His blistering run in the last few minutes of the final quarter was great. He must have been exhausted, but he was prepared to run himself into the ground for his team. Very courageous. Hopefully he can continue playing in this manner.

Won the game for us by taking them on running the field giving us a spark. At that stage we had stopped running to support, running to create and running to present. Heads were down we looked resigned to losing. Well done Andy Lovett.

i am so glad he stayed a bomber. ill admit that i thought the game was done when he made that run today, but im so happy i kept watching. go dons!

Really happy with him. He has been so good this year. Thank God we didn't lose him, would have taken so much out of midfield.

I thought he fell back into bad habits in the first half. He let an opponent run past him a number of times. Funny the way a win makes us look at players differently.

Made up for it with his ball use, never makes a mistake.

Not sure if that run is an example of gut running.
Gut running is the ability to continue running to space all day to make an option along with the regular running with the ball. Thats where the expression came from.

While Lovetts last quarter run was great he actually produced more runs in last weeks game when we lost. He should have had a few runs left in him because he had a quiet first half.

I don't doubt that you are right ant, but I just thought that the run by Lovett is what ultimately won us the game. Great effort in the last few minutes of the last quarter on a wet day.

Great call.

To run and carry like he did, deep into the last quarter was a sensational effort. :thumbsu:

I thought that a couple of times in the first half, Lovett could have worked harder.

Knights moved Lovett forward in the third quarter ( a good move ) which probably left some juice in the tank.

It is an interesting that Lovett performs poorly in Beep Tests but he runs games out strongly.

Why is this so ?

How could you not like the kid, everytime he has the ball something good happens.
he doesnt need 20 possessions to have a real effect on the game and im glad that he is now getting used to getting tagged and receiving loads of attention as well, it always takes outside players a bit of time to adjust to heavy attention and i like the fact that knighta is willing to chuck lovett or dabey in the centre square at times during a match, it makes us so dangerous out of the centre.

Not only Lovett but the guys that are prepared to run are getting great reward with the current style of play. Winderlich, Dempsey, Davey and co all seem to have put in a lot of work pre-season.
