Yep. Can’t smash anyone and now we start losing to lower sides at home in a predictable second half of the season slide.

Season is done and dusted. Not winning a final this year so there’s no point making it. An EF thrashing vs Fremantle, GWS or Brisbane away does nothing to help development as we know all too well.

That possibly helps explain the form drop-off - I think we’ll play better once it’s confirmed we can’t make the 8 in a few weeks (and the players still need to win 1 or 2 more to make the “games won” bonus in 2024 )

I think we’re about the 13th best side this year. The other top 8 teams are better. So are Bulldogs, Melbourne, Hawthorn and Gold Coast. Percentage is a pretty good indicator that our early season wins were not going to continue.

Probably would be 14th best if Collingwood could field a full side. The Saints game could be a good indicator of where we are at.

Hate to say it eth-dog but you were spot on...we are no way a lock for finals - in fact we look pretty much cooked and I'd say it more likely we miss the finals now than make them..!! we've lost 5 of the last 7 now and look a shadow of the team that beat the Bulldogs, Giants & Collingwood twice...Not sure whats gone wrong but maybe we just dont have the players..

Well it’s round 19 and Parish got injured in round 10… and setterfield has been languishing in the VFL…

We were a good contested side early and typically scored via contested possession. We won slugfests against bad teams with strong contest work and abrasive defence against the worst teams in the comp.

needed to fix transition issues and find a better forward mix. Are playing a bunch of players out of form and/or out of position

Have now played one quarter of top level transition football so maybe there’s something to work on.

Are we a good list where things don’t make sense yet and the mix is still off or are we a bottom 4 side that beat a bunch of bad teams early with effort and abrasive defence?

Mabye a bit of both.
