This is pretty bad and expect no word from Gale who was at the game with the President (what's his name?)

What is to blame? poor form, cold weather and an interstate team are Yze's reasons. No excitement at games or game style and just the crap treatment from umpires is my reason.

Gale has to get the flick with how the club is being run at the moment.... The difference between Geelong and us is ' people want to go to them and stay at the cats'

Terrible supporters .... Only turn up when it's Dusty's 300th.
Easy to blame supporters.

1. All club officials have left/leaving. Gale, Balme, Dimma, assitants, etc.

2. Constant media speculation about players leaving.

3. Poor on field form.

4. Complete disconnect from club and supporters (happened around our 2nd or 3rd flag, little things and big things, remember RFC_Official on here? Then air got to their heads and they stopped engaging.

5. Constantly asking for money, whether it's fund-raisers, taking away value from memberships, during covid, we got nothing for them.

Slowly slowly slowly, things have been chipping away. And yes, it's easy to blame the fans, but those in charge of the club stopped giving a **** ages ago

Add Short being VC and all these unnecessary long contracts players are getting. Then Meehan still there and as you say it’s compounded and taken its toll on supporters. A lot of People have financial struggles nowadays and they become fickle and will choose other things to do on the day with their time and money.

I was taking the mickey haha

  • Hard financial times, add MCG food being incredibly expensive to that
  • Wet weather, peoples weather tolerance has become pretty shit since covid I've noticed.
  • Train project works
  • Team performance (People more likely to not care about above factors if team performs well I guess.)
  • Umpiring and constant AFL rule changes etc
Also Sunday games have a pretty meh vibe about them in general.

Also attended and was quietly shocked by lack of numbers.
It’s clear to me that until club gets itself back on track on field and off field supporters will simply check out and with this season that happened around Rnd 3 when our guns started going down.
Fact of the matter is we’ll continue to get graveyard Sunday arvo games until we start performing like a big club.
Just stick fat folks.

Just general soft cokcness would be the reason
I was there and no it wasn’t negative 20 degrees
I went made my decision at lunch time , wore 4 layers including 2 jackets , was fine , was undercover but didn’t rain , the boys showed a bit . Was a bleak morning and our prospects of winning are also bleak so generally doesn’t add up to much of a crowd regardless of who it is , checkout coll crowds when they came 17th few years ago

I was there.
Enjoyed it. No queues for a beer, toilets, food, getting to seats was easy, could sit anywhere.
Really interesting watching the kids develop and but for a few skill errors we were up to our necks in it.
It’s a cycle. Embrace it. I understand if people don’t want to go on a very ordinary, cold day against a nothing opponent.

Engagement has completely dropped off by the club.
Where is the club currently at and where are we heading?
Most think the administration still got their head in the sand and think we've got a decent list that just needs a couple of handy players but we need a rebuild and 5-6 top 15 picks. I don't think it's complete darkness and we could be well positioned in 3 years time but the club is completely silent on it.

Tell me that we're playing the kids and hitting the draft or we think we'll bounce back next year - just stop with the constant upselling and money milking emails- reminds me of how Essendon fans felt few years back

We are 4th in attendances with only 2 wins. Big clubs have poor attendances. Blues had two 16K crowds within 3 weeks of each other in 2005 v Freo and Port. Then again in 2006 they had 17K and 18K. I could find more but no need to. Pies had 20K on Friday night footy V Freo in 2016. Essendon too have had some lowly attendances when down the ladder.

still top 4 for both, absolutely no one else does that in a spoon year with 2 wins.

Supporters perhaps tired of being begged-at by the club for a $40 million budget blow-out stand and massive debt?

I have found that very disillusioning, considering dropping my membership next year, because they are just pouring our hard earned cash into developers pockets. It's the old saying: it's easy to spend when it's not your money.

That has turned me off going to the games too, seems I'm not alone, the club has lost its way.

Weather forecast wasn't great (turned out alright for a winters afternoon), team is shit, footy tickets can be expensive. Definitely disappointing but that's the reality of sport. I'm sure whenever we're good enough for finals everyone will be back and begging for barcodes to get tickets again. At least we're not Carlton fans making fun Richmond fans leaving early only to vacate marvel minutes into the last quater whilst being second on the ladder.

Stick by them brother. It will turn again and we'll be there when it does.
