Eh? Judd's a premiership captain and NS medalist. Put him in a team like the Hawks and he'd have all that Hodge has plus the better individual career; which is basically all you're saying, that Hodge has played with better teams.
I'm not talking about fantasy though. I'm talking about actual achievements.

Hodge has lead his team to 3 premierships. That's what clubs ultimately play for.

Judd has had a better overall career than Hodge, but surely you can figure out that Hodge has been a major reason why the hawks have been so successful

Judd has played maybe 4 good years, the rest have been getting cheap disposals and banking his pay-cheques, Hodge has played 10 good years of football, i give it to Hodge by a mile.............

Judd was considered top 2-3 for awhile, Hodge has been considered top 10 for a long time in the AFL, as for skill Hodge is better, as for pace Judd is better, but if i were to pick a team to WIN, i would pick Hodge, because he steps up when you need him wherever you need him.............

what i find funny is all the essenscum/geelong/sydney fans picking Judd, there's no surprise there, rivalries ahead of reality..................

Find me any such quote. Of course, this argument of yours is as vacuous and flawed as everything else you've claimed about Judd.
"Juddy kicks it to space"

That is the polite way the commentators describe his kicking, I guess they just make it up.

Dude Hodge went past Juddy in 2010 and no amount of bleating from you will change this.

So no need to debate this with me because I have never seen a poll involving a Carlton player that you did not argue that the Carlton player was the best.

There have been lots of neutrals in this poll who have voted Hodge. No need to go on a personal crusade dude just deal with it.

Although Hodge is a two time NS winner, he's also stunk it up in this years prelim(just poor ball use), last years and the 2012 granny. Judds one of the best finals players I've ever seen.

It's chicken or the egg with hodge and hawthorn. He's seen so great because they're so good and a bit of why they're so good is because he's a great leader. No doubt in my mind though that his leadership would barely cover judds while Judds production eats hodges alive

He was hot favourite in 2011 because he won the previous Brownlow on worse form.

Yeah. Not cause he won the MVP and was 2nd in the coaches votes by a bees dick o_O

Judd hasn't played a good final since 2010.

Geez. Missed him against the Tigers last year huh? Turned the game.

Judd's finals record right through his career is pretty bloody good. Massive big game player.

It's not fantasy, it's logical hypothesis ... big difference. Yes, Hodge has actually achieved these things, but they're team achievements; take out the team change the achievement. Simple stuff really. Plenty of better players than Hodge haven't shared his team achievements because their team wasn't as good as Hodge's. To extend this stuff out of the sphere of team into that of the individual makes for a very weak argument IMO.

Not sure about major reason to be honest; I mean how many major reasons can you have in one outcome? He has definitely played an integral role in a successful team though, sure. As I said earlier in this thread, Hawk supporters have to be happy to have had Hodge play for them. Couldn't have asked more from a No.1 pick really.

Err ... the point being that he was favourite because he played bloody good football.

Yeah I said that he was better than the year before so he was playing well, but the added factor seemed to be that because he was playing better than a Brownlow year it was assumed that he would naturally do even better in the Brownlow. It doesn't work that way.

I don't know if I posted already in this thread but Judd wins hands down.

No, you're talking in "ifs" and "buts". Pure fantasy.

Logic allows us to reason about the unrealised. Fantasy is dreaming about the improbable. What I've said is logic plain and simple; and damn solid logic at that.
It's fantasy.

If your auntie had balls logic.

Judd without hesitation, second best player of the last ten years with Hodge coming in after the Riewoldt/Pavlich/Goodes of the world in the next tier down.

Not sure you understand what the word fantasy means at this point. Clearly the achievements you speak of are team achievements. This is a fact. There have been much better players than Hodge not reach these achievements and this is due to the teams they played in. Again, fact. It is reasonable to conclude that a drastic change of team would likely lead to a change of result. This is not fantasy, this is deductive reasoning. How terrible a world it would be to only be able to think in terms of what is and has been.

You've come up with a hypothesis based on "if", when we actually have reality to observe.
