Hodge in carrer best form and probally the best player in the league right now

gazza still getting the stats but causing not that much damage to a team but still on his day best in the league

Ablett.

Still producing quality football and likely to for the rest of his career. Also has 3 straight seasons on consistent superstardom behind him.

Plus, right now, we aren't going anywhere until we get rid of chocolate.

Hodge has had the best season in his career, Ablett the worst in 3 years and they are both playing at a similar level.

So Ablett very easily he is still playing very well on any measure but his own, and his brilliant best could be just around the corner.

nah

ablett averages more possessions (33.5 to 26.7), goals (1.9 to 0.6), inside 50s (4.7 to 4.3), clearances (5.3 to 4.3), contested possessions (12.8 to 10.1) and scoring assists (1.2 to 1)

You can't count Ablett possessions like you do the possessions of other players. He does 1-2 a lot, and doesn't gain a lot of forward momentum for his side.

As for the stats like clearances, I50s, goals, assists, Hodge has played a couple of games at half-back this season. The fact that he is even close is a big win for Hodge. Ablett should really be getting more goal assists and more I50s for the amount of disposals he gets. He doesn't even rate in the top players for goal assists, which is amazing given his disposal numbers and the amount of time he spends up forward. He's also only 19th in inside 50s.

P.S. When was the last time Ablett had 13 clearances in a match. Actual question.

You hypocritical moron. Only a few weeks ago were you stating that Ablett is a small forward "Joseph only goes to small forward like Ablett, Carazzo goes to midfielders like Hodge" now you say hes a full time midfielder just to support your argument. FAIL.
Secondly this forward movement thing? Inside 50's being in Abletts favour would suggest that he is moving the ball forward more than Hodge. If you are going to continue to go down this road produce evidence to back up your claims. You have this idea that you're an expert when it comes to footy and that people should take what you say as gospel, the problem is you're just a fu**ing idiot!

He's both. You can't seriously tell me that Ablett doesn't ever play as a small forward? Joseph plays on these types of players.

Nobody would seriously argue that Ablett has more metres gained than Hodge. I've already explained that Hodge has had a couple of games at half-back this year, so that wouldn't help his inside 50 count at all.

Not sure why you're reduced to swearing either. It's not like I've said anything that isn't a blatant fact.

Err...so it's pretty amazing that Ablett is still leading Hodge in all those statistical categories, right?

Hoisted on your own petard.

Eh, no. Like I said Hodge played a couple of games at half-back which have affected his average in those stats. Ablett has rotated forward, but i50s, assists, goals are all forward stats. Even crumbing off a pack counts as a clearance.

They'rel level in goal assists, but Ablett should have more considering he plays forward/mid.
