Roast Luke Meehan Departs Richmond

Should Richmond look for a big bucks, top tier replacement for Luke "The Punt Rd Slasher" Meehan?

  • Yes. Club needs to be ruthless and "Pay the Price!".

  • No. We should back in Meehan and gamble our aging stars bodies, potentially sacrificing 2024.

  • No. replace with another el cheapo McGee with their online $29 P.T cert IV and cross our fingers.

  • Undecided.

Reckon the crows are trying to hold Burgess against his will as he has a contract for 2025. Surely they release him if he decides he wants out.

Adelaide confident prized fitness boss will remain a Crow despite growing interest

“He is one name that just keeps popping up in conversations,” Josh Gabelich told SEN’s Sportsday.

“Clubs are coming for him. Carlton came for him very hard; they ended up going with Rob Inness from Sydney, they poached him yesterday but that was only after Darren Burgess knocked them back.

“Richmond have been circling, Geelong are in the market.”

As the importance of high-performance managers continues to rise with strength and conditioning programs proving vital in injury and player management, the price to employ the best in the game has increased significantly.

“They have poached the Sydney guy (Inness), he wouldn’t come cheap, and Darren Burgess has always been paid really well.”

Gabelich: “I think the range is between two to five hundred (thousand dollars per year).

“It’s a broad range because there’s a broad range of experience. There are not too many really experienced (high-performance managers) going around.”

While certain clubs may be willing to splash out for Burgess’ services, Gabelich believes that the Crows are not willing to budge.

“As far as Adelaide are concerned, Darren Burgess is not going anywhere,” he said.

Either that or Louie has found his new workplace

what about the stormy guy? we could use some thicker necks. punt Rd looks like an ostrich farm, too many pecker heads
What would think would happen if you trained and conditioned AFL players to be NRL shaped and conditioned and then let loose to compete against teams that are specifically trained and conditioned to the AFL game.

Answer... something like Louie butchered match fatigued and injured Tiges 2024.

This is all on Tim Livingston

This year has been a disaster, and if can't bring a world class candidate for what is the most important role in a football club
he is not up to it.

Absolutely critical appointment
Livingston has been a disaster. Hopefully Dimma takes him next year or the new CEO bones him.

Disaster in 2023? Along with everything else that went wrong?
How did he go in the 10 years prior to that? Helped build the footy dept to the best in the comp and created a dynasty.
Jeez people forget quickly.
