Hopefully this will stop Nicks dropping him or making him sub. One of my favourite players . He so clean and a great mark, he will become a very good player for us

Mine too, hopefully as his confidence grows he’ll show some more run and carry with the ball and break some lines like that.

Has looked great ever since his debut.
I had him as a lock in my Round 1 side based on what I saw from him in his first handful of games last year, and our clear need to look to the future. Was really disappointed he wasn't in the R1 team.
My eye tells me he just does most things right, and is a very effective player. Should be a lock now, and provides good flexibility as an intercept or running HBF, a winger and could see him having a run on ball and drifting forward.

Round 1 next year if that deadbeat is still coaching us, he'll play Smith in front of him because Smith was fantastic whilst there were no footballs out.

Fantastic news and thoroughly deserved :thumbsu:

I have this memory of Nankervis' debut, when there was footage of his dad giving a talk to the playing group. I haven't been able to find it since, it may have been in the broadcast itself (most replay sites cut out the non-playing footage). I remember his dad saying something like "the Adelaide Football Club is about to learn a thing or two about Luke Nankervis!" It was surprisingly bullish compared to the usual "we're so proud of him" stuff you normally see.

I've always thought of that comment every time I've watched Nankervis play. There is something unique there, something a little bit special. It's taken the AFC a while to realise it but it's undeniable now.

Another player who when I watched his 1st game just knew he would be a long-term player for us.

Pity the coaches took a while to work this out.

This is the type of talent you fast-track to 50 games.

That's flippin' Great! 🙌 He's certainly proved he's way more than a braid & a bucket hat.

He absolutely carved up on his 360 interview tonight

Has a bit of personality

I'd forgotten that he almost didn't make the 18s Sandringham squad. Missed the email with the invitation to training. Found it months later and had to beg for a chance

Sometimes I wish Nicks had missed his email inviting him to interview for the coaching role.

When people say 'our list is shit', I don't buy it. We just aren't identifying the talent on the list and playing them.... Nicks and co basically had to be dragged kicking and screaming to select this kid, now he's had a rising star nomination.
Tend to agree. It's not completely there, obvious holes to fill.
Ruck, A grade midfielder, small defender, small forward are 4 spots outside of Tyler Welsh coming into replace Walker that if we could get would put list where it needs to be.

Dream scenario - Welsh, Stengle, Moyle and Warner. Free agent small defender end of 2025.

As in Tyson Stengle?

You've gotta stop these dream scenarios for your sake, you'll continue to set yourself up for disappointment.
