Yeah - the key difference is McHenry could play AFL. Has played 41 of 44 games. There was no real drop-off between his best and worst.

The key point here is that Pedlar has struggled to play half a season over the past 4 years. Thats the concern.

Agree. It is a concern. I missed your point.

Really hope Pedlar plays the majority of AFL games next year as a forward/midfielder as he does offer us a point of difference.

Worth being patient for... but now is the time.

Well, just basic football knowledge the end of season surgery (if required) whether done a few weeks ago or now will mean the recovery is delay for a few weeks anyway. I don't have "source" like you.
The smart thing to have done was take a zero risk policy and IF his injury was preventing him from running for half a week after each game, then explore the options to repair the injury so that he can be cherry ripe for the start of preseason. Possibly if he now does need surgery it will delay his preseason and it will be another interrupted preparation for an AFL season

Do you think his basic football knowledge can absorb this?

Disagree, he has already missed a big chunk of his development this year and we saw what he can do in a few final pressure games. Worth the risk given it was only a hip flexor injury.
