Yes i agree a few were legitimate, but it's not just tonight mate.

And please spare me bloke, Swallow actually attacks the ball hard that's why he gets his head highs. Look it's his choice and while he ain't getting caught I guess it's fair game but it ain't a great look.

Did you get your little sister to come up with your username? I can't take you seriously. Not only do you baa baa, but your name is a blight on the game. I went there.

Could you tell me which ones you wouldn't pay from tonight then? He doesn't drop the knees as often as what most people here believe. He lifts his arm and it slips the tackle high. It's all in one movement as the tackle hits so i'm sure for the umpire in the heat of the action it would be fairly hard to tell he has done it.

There has to be a line between what is legitimate and what isn't. You can't expect the umpire to tell if a tackle has just naturally slipped high or if it was forced high when there tackle after tackle being layed in a highly contested game.

Mate stevie wonder can even see it. I don't get it are you saying he doesn't do it or it's ok he does it?

Believe me it is blatant umpires can tell, whether they have the balls to make the call is another thing.

Bending over to pick up the ball does not make you a ducker. Ducking is when you put your head down and run into a player.

I'm saying he does it. I'm saying others do it. I'm saying it's impossible to bring in a rule to get rid of it and telling the umpires to try and pick out what is legit and what isn't is only going to cause more troubles than there already is regarding umpiring decisions.

I also don't understand why people make such a fuss about it. I have never once got angry at an opposition player doing it against West Coast. Even before Shuey. I don't really understand how this has more attention than the bullrush approach which is far more dangerous.

Oh and for those that say Shuey isn't hard at the ball clearly have no idea.

Meh, wouldn't bother with him, sooking just like their coach. Seems to be what they do best.

Umpires really need to be smarter. Drops his knees then no free unless the head high contact is very agressive
you need to lower your centre of gravity (dropping the knees) to change direction or accelerate. It's how the human body works. Combine this with the perfectly legal attempt to shrug a tackle and this is what often happens.

You know what's really dumb? That everyone knows this is the case yet they don't adjust. They continue to lay the same illegal tackle every time. Stupid football.

I don't get it. If any player is trying to break a tackle and the tacklers isn't good enough to make it stick, what's the issue? Next we'll see a thread suggesting NicNat is a cheat because he jumps too high in the ruck.

If you're not good enough to stick a legal tackle, you're not good enough to stick a legal tackle. Thank you, come again

NicNat DOES jump too high, it's disgusting, he's an utter cheat. I think he should be suspended for all of next year and the Eagles should be thrown out of the competition.

i refuse to watch eagles games because of this

Hard to watch isn't it? I bet a lot of the eagles supporters defending him here are the same people who will bag soccer players for playing for frees every time someone looks like touching them.

I'm fine with guys like Joel Selwood or Kerr winning frees in the act of trying to shrug tackles, but when someone like Shuey pretends to 'shrug' a tackle with the sole intent of winning a free it's infuriating to watch.

You can tell the difference because genuine hard guys like J. Selwood or Kerr keep their feet and are already in the process of playing on when the whistle goes, while Shuey is on his way down faster than a two dollar hooker.

He may not be the only one,

Good.

but he does it way more then anyone else. He's been doing it every game he's played this year.

You are being duped by your own brain. Your cognitive bias has you ignore the lowering of the head that occurs every singly game. Yet because of your preconceived judgement of Shuey, based on a mantra recited here on the forums over and over again, you see it every time.

The cure - don't read stupid Shuey threads.
