Was going to take a tall, but couldn't pass up on Sheezel

I'm actually shocked that he lasted this long.

Looking like it would have been better for me if I were in the second half of this draft, as I now have zero idea who I am picking next. :tearsofjoy: I have a top 10 written up, but I'm unsure if I will go with my number 2 now. :anguished:

Plus Xerri featured on there too somewhere. Damn.

Wouldn't you just pick 23 midfielders, high possession HBFers?
If you were out to win an all costs, yes!

It would be fun if peeps could simply choose their best 23 first.

Maybe we could vote between us for the top 10 best-23 teams who go on to play in the prestigious in-season play off ?

That would discourage anyone putting Sam Walsh to CHB!

I promised myself I would take a key forward or elite ruck with my first pick, so I select....

Errol Gulden :p

OK, obviously I desperately need to pick a ruck or key forward now, so I select....

Caleb Serong

Coona Blues

And an hour later went with the auto pick from his own spreadsheet. Love your work ferrisb

After taking the 175cm Gulden, he was baulking at the deceptively tall Serong at 180cm.

I'll have you know I had pretty much pencilled in Xerri as my 2nd pick before this whole thing started.

I'm generally approaching this as needing to lock in key pieces ahead of pure talent. But then when it comes to my pick, I start double and triple guessing myself, playing infinite loops of 'I want A here. But if I pick B, I might get A at my next pick and then if A is taken, I have C and D as backup'.

Honestly, the permutations are driving me mental. In a good way. Mostly...

I had Sheezel and Serong as my Top 2 next.

Well, that was destroyed. Now just going to pick randomly based on who I like / dislike as there is no saving this team. :tearsofjoy:

I had Xerri as my #1 strategic target and Sheezel as my best available.

They went in the two picks immediately before mine...

I was honestly optimistic they'd still be available at my pick given how the second half of the draft were choosing.

It really seems like this first half is a lot different, and think similarly to me in terms of drafting.

It's a heap of fun. Not one participant hasn't been frustrated at some point.
