Malceski injury

I find it odd that in a game conceded before it starts (by omission of recognized ruckmen and most of the seniors) that you would include an important player with a history of knee injury.

Shocking news. I'm a fan of Malceski, the kid is all class, future captain and brownlow contender IMO.

I feel for you guys and Mal. Hopefully it will be a speedy recovery and he will come back a stronger man.

I didn't watch the match but I've only heard good things about your youngsters. Hopefully you can unearth another Malceski.

Chin up Swannies. All the best for the season. :thumbsu:

Apologies for the severity of my comments yesterday, I was absolutely gutted last night, could only think bad thoughts. The kids were good.

the kids are all right

but what about LRT? he was outstanding
i know, i KNOW it was a first-up NAB cup game but he was a revelation
i admit i'm his biggest fan, i think he's gonna be a star, so i was thrilled with what he did yesterday
he rucked, he ran forward, he was strong in defence and in packs around the ground, he even linked in runs out of defence
if he stays fit and continues his progress, as yesterday indicated, he will stand up as a real player this season

Yup, LRT did very well yesterday. I was very happy with his efforts.

I am gutted,i know its a bit of overkill, but he has the potential to become a real club champion! He is probably gutted too,but he has been through this knee shit before, and i believe he will bounce back, ready to take his place in
the team, and show us why we all love him!

I'm absolutely shattered.....

He was on the verge of becoming a sensational footballer.

Let's just hope a kid like Craig Bird can make his mark in 2008.

Bad luck about the kid guys, was really getting some form going. Hopefully he can come back as good as he was.

Re: Nick Malceski - Possible ACL

They just said that its very likely Malceski has done a ACL. This is not good

He's not alone. There's now at least 4 players allready gone for the year. Last year only 5 players went down but In think this year is going to be a really bad year of ACL's.

there will be some encouraging news tomorrow on malceski's state of health

What was your good news?

*Heard about the new op, but does that time take into consideration rehabilitation and gaining back his fitness?

not sure what else has been posted, but far as i know he's already walking without crutches, and doing light exercise, is excpected to be back in full training in about 6 weeks and, if that's the case and all seems well, he and the club are aiming for round 8 or so to be a genuine chance of playing
if not, he then has the conventional operation and obviously sets sights on a return for the 09 season

I'm a big fan of my fellow countryman in Malceski...man i hope he's back soon. with him missing would it be fair that Jarrod Mcveigh may even step into that role ??? i keep hearing Mattners name thrown around but i don't think he is a suitable replacement for Malceski !!! i'm not confident in Mattners disposals...he shanks a fair bit !!!

Not disrespecting your post at all, but have you seen McVeigh play? Mattner would be a far better "replacement" for Malceski, compared to McVeigh. Don't get me wrong, Vague does some good things and I believe he can still have his role within the team, but replace Eski? Not in your life.

Yeah, but if the OP does go wrong then we'll be looking at early to mid-season 09, not 09 anymore..in effect he'll be having to ACL's, with nearly twice as much invasive surgery, twice the chances of contracting an infection and nearly twice the rehab time.

I'm just hoping first surgery turns out to be a ripper, and he comes out fine! (Knock on wood!)
