The only hope the Liberals have at an election is Julie Bishop

She's certainly the best hope of any of them, but not even a leader with her popularity could get them anything other than a catastrophic election result now. They're absolute toast after the events of the last 3 days, even if Bishop does end up leader.

Dingo's turn on a wounded dingo - for dingo read politician.

But it sounds very intimidating, like he is calling out to his supporters to start a meme petition on FaceBook. If I was Morrison I would be in Licorice Allsorts thinking that Andrew Bolt could make me enemy numero uno against a united front of Andrew Bolt Subscribers.

I think you're right. Dutton and ScoMo are inherently unlikeable - which is by no means fatal in politics if people think you're good at running the country. But neither has enough time to show that before the next election.

If I was a backbencher with margin of less than 7 or 8%, i'd be backing Bishop just to protect my own arse.

Is there enough time until a likely next election for a Dutton/Morrison/whoever to take the heat before Bishop takes over?

I'd like to see Bishop and Turnbull resign from the party and serve as independents.

directly contradicts many of your posts elsewehre onthis fourm uyou have repeatedly presented thsi as the sumpreame argument. Do you have no sense consistency?

Simply not true. There is little relation between the two. Energy generation is a very small part of power bills. The rise of power bills has have virtually nothing to do with the costs of energy generation.

You can do both.

Why would that make any sense what so ever? Who was this prime misnsiter and why woudl they be smiling about this unpopular occurrence?

Why do people who disagree with you on anything have to be actually evil?

Blinkered World view. Adjusting reality to conform to your ideology

Adjusting your arguments to the question and not bothering for any consistency what so ever.

the benefits of a private school education. how much did your parents pay for your education are they considering demanding a refund?

Nope don't see any contradiction at all.

No you can not have lower power costs and lower emissions. If you could than you wouldn't need to focus on lower emissions just lower costs.

Maybe I'm in the minority of people (excluding rusted on ALP folk) but I think this is necessary.

The polls have Labor/Liberal pretty close and usually do. Since the election we've gone from 50-50 to 55-45 ALP and back to 51-49 for 2PP. The Primary vote is even closer. For preferred leader Turnbull has been consistently ahead of Shorten the whole time. People actually like Mal.

You could also argue that people would just prefer a Labor govt minus Shorten but I reckon a good deal of people are sick of these socially conservative ****s ruining things for everyone else. Just **** off and let politics go back to being about a party for the workers and a party for business.

Yep......I like Turnbull as PM.
He is the most qualified person in the Parliament for the job imo.

Problem is he is working with both hands tied behind his back. That be Abbott.

Abbott is not interested in what is in the best interest of the country.....just his own interests and will stop at nothing to extract reveng. He is worse than K.Dudd and that’s a big call.

I still recall Tony Windsor saying that Abbott said to him that there was nothing he wouldn’t do to become PM when they were trying to wok the Criss benchers following the 2010 election.

This told me everything I needed to know about Abbottt

Is there anybody in this thread who would still vote if they weren't fined for skipping voting?

If so, why? Why do you still believe in this crap? How obvious does it have to be?

You don't have to vote, only get your name ticked off the roll, so if you cannot be bothered turning just ask for a pre-poll then return the ballot paper unmarked because as long as the ballot is signed and returned by 6pm election day then no fine will be issued but to be safe just walk up to the booth, smile at the booth worker as he/she ticks your name off and walk out remembering to drop the ballot in the box.

Kennet's a corporate leftie at heart I cant imagine him liking Dutton

If our country has moved so far right that Kennett is deemed a "lefty" we might as well just end the whole failed experiment now.

Well you can only lead a horse to water so many times..

No you can not have lower power costs and lower emissions. If you could than you wouldn't need to focus on lower emissions just lower costs.

Ideology. You don;t have to. I know it blows your mind but try to expand your view beyond Andrew Bolt tells you to think.

You do realize that generation costs are small part of energy bills.

Jeez, Mal must be tempted to pay the Governor-General a visit this arvo. He'd be able to wipe out all these cockroaches at a stroke.

Of course, he'd lose Government as well, but that was going to happen anyway...

Go an outside of parliament option rather than these clowns then run straight into an election. It’s not unprecedented and would put labor on the back foot.

Problem is who would want to do it?

Yes, you can you nonce.

The Legilslation just axed by Abbott, Dutton and co was going to do just that.

As for practical power, a Hydro power plant has zero emissions and provides shit loads of power, and is dirt cheap. Nuclear also (but it creates problems elsewhere). Solar and Wind also have low cost and low emissions.

Youre full of shit. Once again.
