The AFL demanded fairness when the WA Government allowed groups of 10 & it was seen as a potential training advantage of other States for the Dockers & Eagles.

A consistent  position by the AFL though, fairness is a concept that favours one State in a national comp.

No chance Mick.

Ummm. It's only fair if no games are played in Victoria, the state with over 1/2 the teams in the comp?

You self entitled whingers really need to get some self awareness.

If the season gets going & Victorian’s are unable to attend games then why not?

AFL must take finals to fans: Malthouse

Makes perfect sense to me, no one gets hurt and we get finals with atmosphere.

So the Grand Final will be more than two weeks after the Prelim so that teams can do the mandatory self-isolation period when entering Western Australia??

that well be well gone by then

Is that you Mark McGowan?

Unless there's been confirmation that the state hard border will be removed by then (for more than Kerry Stokes); it seems like massive disruption to the competition to play one-off games out of WA.

No chance Mick.
If fans are locked out of all other states than WA by that time us should be an option.

But whose to say this will be the case in all states in 5-6 months time.

"Chairman Andrews"

Good to see Mick still clueless.
Given the heightened social tensions around Covid, it's really freaking stupid for Mick to be saying something like this. It's one thing for Sam Newman to act like a child, it's another for someone with Mick's intellect to use that language.

Afl will say mcg won't allow it due to our contract

AFL would rather play the GF in an empty MCG, then if the crowd was allowed to attend a Grand Final in Perth or Adelaide.

Would be funny if Perth got the Grand Final and the Eagles made it, then the WA Premier decides to close its borders the week before the Grand Final.

Not sure about that.
The lack of atmosphere in round one delivered a less than ideal product for the AFL. I would think would be doing everything they can to ensure people can attend the GF in a safe and responsible manner.

Sam Newman may be a dickhead, but he's a well educated dickhead. Mick has never struck me as an intelligent man, he was an excellent 'us against them' coach and knew what made players tick but has rarely made any sense when opining on football (or life in general).

When will WCE fans understand that their little cake tin stadium in their isolated and irrelevant city is not worthy enough to host the Grand Final? How many people does it fit? 60k? Yuck.

Them, Fremantle and Geelong already have a ridiculous advantage in the Home & Away season, the last thing we need is to give one of these sides another leg up.

Did you read the article? A full Optus stadium would be a hell of a lot better than an empty mcg

Even outside of Victoria, Optus Stadium is nowhere near the top of my preference list. Need a stadium with heart, soul, tradition and history.
And with competent non biased umpiring that regularly get influenced by the local WA ferals

So we have to play finals at the mcg to ensure as many Victorians can attend as possible

But Victorians can’t attend games in this scenario, so noone should be able to

and we’re the entitled ones

That's because MCG won't allow it due to their contract.

But in this case i'm sure something could be worked out. MCC might ask for a % of gate receipts to break contract for one year.

Would Perth agree to this?
At first I doubt but if they are still making a profit they would do it
