Because the omnicon varient is twice as contagious ,we have no density limits, some people don't wear masks, protesters gather without masks in large numbers and it spreads through households easily.

How many are you comfortable dying by suicide in quarantine to have the comfort of feeling after in the community?

That's absolutely a loaded question because you're not a monster and don't want anyone to die.

But there is an answer. What rate are you comfortable with to get that layer of security?

In Australia it looks like few, if any, died by suicide due to quarantine.

As far as I know the number of suicides has been extemely low and the lives saved by quarantine has probably been very high .
Also it has stopped a lot of people being hospitalised which frees up medical care to save lives for non covid illness .

Do you think the same suicide rate as refugees in indefinite mandatory detention would be acceptable for quarantine?

Please explain the difference, if your answer is not the same rate. Do you think 2 weeks quarantine would be harder than indefinite detention?

If the risk of death in the home country being fled from, as claimed, is lower than the risk of suicide in detention in Australian custody then that's a massive problem and needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

Now, should we get back to the difficult discussion that there is clearly a point at which we are happy to let other people die for the appearance of safety to us, where do we think that is?

You'll notice the number of lessons not learned and the amount of measures not implemented nation wide with hotel quarantine leading to multiple leaks as soon as the rate of infected travellers rose above the 0.67% of the early spread.

How people like Stokes can fly home from a birthday skiing trip in Colorado during their explosion, back into WA with compulsory hotel quarantine, and both skip the hotel to isolate at home and then attend an ALP fund-raiser a few days later.

Just like security at airports, most of the benefit is in making people feel safe. Not actually keeping them safe.

She was released from a mental health facility and was required to isolate when arriving to see family, alone and having just left a facility, she took her own life.

You can make the case that if she were able to be with loved ones that she still would have taken her own life if you want.
