You laughing inappropriately again.

The Covid graph shows Australia still has a very high daily death number.
Why does this make you laugh?

This is despite a high vaccination rate and a less deadly strain in Omicron being dominant. Any thoughts why this might be?
Your "high daily death number" is only high coz your comparison is to a time when we were in hard lockdown. What did you think would happen when we opened up again like you wanted?

This has been explained to you, complete with a graph from a country that didn't have a hard national lockdown. It shows deaths are less post vaccine.

I'm not laughing at the death number, I'm laughing at you. Its funny that you still don't get it and are continuing to run this angle. Very appropriate to laugh at.

So you're saying the hard lockdown down was a bad idea?

The hard lockdowns ended because with the vaccines it was meant to be safe to open up again. This doesn't appear to be the case now does it.

All happening on here!

Somewhat on topic, but I will say that a major reason Trump got beaten was his seemingly half-arsed response to Covid and Biden's pledge to fix it.

Biden clearly hasn't fixed it, and it is now clear that Covid impossible to control unless you are a remote island, or happy to go in a holding pattern on hard lockdown (China style, and I'm still suss on their numbers)

Trump was favourite to get re-elected until Covid came round.

Ever since the vaccine rollout towards the end of 2021, deaths from COVID have dropped to the lowest point they've been since the start of the pandemic

This is untrue. The vaccine rollout started Dec 2020. Since then there has been 2 large waves and more deaths than before the vaccine rollout

So the difference was lockdowns.

This has been explained to you numerous times.

LOL, explain those graphs to us. I especially like the bit of no cases for the first 18 months, but a couple of death spikes in the same time period.

Your technical comprehension skills are embarrassingly low.

Nice pivot

Personally I think they were too harsh or at least went on too long. I'm not arrogant enough to believe I could have done it all so much better though, I'll leave that to the freedumb warriors. The one consistent thought I had during that time was thank christ I'm not in charge of figuring this shit out.

The hard lockdowns ended because with the vaccines it was meant to be safe to open up again. This doesn't appear to be the case now does it.
I feel pretty safe ¯\(ツ)

Safer than it would have been to open up without vaccines in any case, that much is clear on the data despite your steadfast refusal to interpret that data correctly even when its painstakingly explained to you. You have to open up at some stage, it can't go on forever - despite what the nutters on this board tell you, lockdowns aren't wanted by anyone, including governments. I guess we had to wait until the decision makers were comfortable with measures in place they thought would see an 'acceptable' number of deaths in order to get us back to normal, rather than an 'unacceptable' number (I realise thats somewhat arbitrary, just trying to simplify).

Where's yebiga with his excess deaths shtick when you need him, he was pretty convinced not a lot of extra people were dying during the height of covid even in the US lol.

Do you think that might be because WE WERE IN HARD EXTENDED LOCKDOWN BEFORE THE VACCINE ROLLOUT? Ya know, people not going out, mixing and spreading the thing? Is it your contention that absent of the lockdowns we would have had roundabout the same number of covid deaths? Like.. yeah I'm sure hard lockdowns are more effective at saving lives than the vaccine, society can't go on like that though.

I'm not sure it can be made any clearer than this :drunk:

You're forgetting that the vaccine rollout didn't get properly under way until about March 2021 -- it was a shambles under the stupid boy Jared and then Biden's team had to basically start again on getting it organised. So you can't be doing comparisons based on people being vaccinated at December 2020. The US has been a laggard in getting people vaccinated pretty much all the way along -- initially due to the slow start and then due to MAGA posturing on the efficacy of vaccines, much like what you've been doing on here.

More evidence that you are utterly consumed by everything Trump and MAGA.
May you one day find peace.

More evidence that you are untroubled by the facts in this matter.
I posted facts. We are just interpreting what they tell us in different ways.
The data just doesn't support that the vaccines have been a success.
A) There has been no reduction in the spread of Covid even amongst the vaccinated.
B) The death rate hasn't decreased by any discernable amount.

They are only now releasing a vaccine that is designed to fight Onicron, yet they have been telling us to get boosted with a vaccine not even designed for the dominant variant

So it's easy to see why they have failed.

But hey, get vaccinated and boosted, it's 100% effective for virtue signalling.

By all means mate, explain to us how the following graph doesn't show deaths decreasing by any discernible amount :drunk:

Totally incorrect, as usual. The data unequivocally supports that the vaccines have been successful. They were never stated to be a 100% cure. Here's some guidance:

None of this is true though.

I'm fully vaccinated and was for the vaccines at the start.

I have since seen how utterly ineffective they have been.

I also got the AZ jab and there was no AZ booster offered. Also Omicron was the dominant strain at the time so I didnt see the point in getting a booster of a different type of vaccine that hasn't even been tested on the new Omicron strain?

It's anedotal but my wife got Covid the 2nd time a few weeks after her Moderna booster. The whole family came down with again as well. Except for me who wasn't boosted. Go figure.

Your personal experience is consistent with the view stated. In all likelihood your wife and family would have been more ill if they were unvaccinated.

You are literally demonstrating that you don't understand the concepts of higher and lower risk in aggregate. Basing your whole outlook on personal anecdotes is extremely limited thinking.

Easier to just throw out labels like anti-vaxxer etc and hide behind the mob/cult. Saves engaging in critical or independent thought.

My wife suffers pretty badly from long covid but luckily she was boosted. Saved her from getting extra-long Covid.

Also, my experience wasn't consitent. I notice you conveniently ignore that. Gotta stick with narrative.

Stokey any danger of a response to this?
This has already been explained You will notice the deaths levelled out at the exact same time Omicron became the dominant strain. Not when the vaccines were introduced.

People we being offered boosters at the stage you are pointing out because they weren't working as well as expected.

It's consistent with the aggregate / average, which allows for variation of individual experiences. Another comprehension fail from you.

You still haven't explained the graph that you put up that showed zero covid cases in the first 18 months.

Look carefully at the vertical scale with a magnifying glass. It's in increments of 50,000.
