Mark Thompson cost Gary Ablett Brownlow: manager Liam Pickering

Team > Individual, no arguing there. But Pickering is right, there's no doubt Ablett would've taken out another deserving Brownlow had he not been moved forward so often.

The real question is, how much of it was personal vendetta on Thompson's part? Or did he know that Ablett was not going to be around for the next season?

Why are people criticising Ablett here? He's not the one who said Thompson cost him a brownlow.

You don't think Ablett has had a whinge to Pickering at sometime about it ?
Why would Pickering even publicly mention it unless Ablett has said something to him about it ?

I think it was the Hawthorn game in Rd 2 last year we first saw Ablett have a sooky-sooky-la-la at 3/4 time because Thompson was moving him from the midfield to the forward line. The reason was because in the 3rd qtr Ablett was getting his cheap possies but his opponent [Bateman ?] was getting a heap and doing damage with them.It was the Rd 5 game against Carlton where Ablett had a massive public hissyfit because he was being moved forward.

You've loaded the question in a way that has already sold Ablett down the river, without basing it on any fact. Why wouldn't Pickering publicly mention it? Maybe he wanted attention for opinion he had, like a whole heap of people involved in the football media.
But we don't know. So people having a go at Ablett based on...nothing, is unfair.

Because it's big footy and posters love having a dig.

Indeed.
