So when PA fans came trolling on our Kangaroos board last week gloating about belting us, it was okay for us to turn back to the trolls with the above justifcation? And didn't they greet that with such intellect as well!

If you are that naive and can't see that every team has troll supporters that will do that after any loss then you have issues, the port board on the whole would be one of the most gracious in defeat or in success. the regular posters that is.

unless you have been raised on the moon, only a crows premiership wouldve have felt better yesterday for non 'powder' fans living in SA. having to deal wih the arrogance which comes oh so naturally to port people on a daily basis from the time i was old enough to appreciate tribal warfare, we can be excused for feeling elated.

some might criticise crows fans for celebrating an oppositions misfortunes as if we were celebrating a premiership of our own. people might even say we have a chip on our shoulder and are being petty.

however, the chip still rests with all those associated with the 'powder'.

even b4 the 1997 season commenced, they were boasting that they would win premierships b4 the crows.
they tried to brainwash everyone that their 'tradition' and culure of success will be replicated in the AFL.
they ridiculed us by claiming we were a coorporation but they were a 'club'.
they laughed when 'rehnny' did his knee
they cheered at alberton on SANFL match days when the announcer broadcast a crows loss in melb.
they accused crows fans of not sticking it out till the end but ignored the fact that the 'powder' sections of AIMEE were vacated well before the final siren that one night in sept 2 years ago when we played them in the 'dream final' chad cornes had dreamt of.
they cant acknowledge how hard it is to win a premiership let alone 2 in a row
they cant acknowledge losing to a better team in 'showdowns'
they cant acknowledge that adelaide in the #1 team in SA

yes, they WERE the most successful footballing team in aust, mind you, they were a big fish in a small pond.
yes they continuously produce great players
yes, they thrive on being hated. in fact they encourage it.

YES THEY OWN THE RECORD FOR THE GREATEST LOSING GF MARGIN!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what it is like to live with a bunch of one-eyed ferals mate(oh got to love WA ), but just because they are like that it doesn't give you the right to gloat about them losing a grand final(unless it was your side that beat them).

Gloat about beating them this year, gloat about your premierships, what ever, but in 07 port were better than 14 other teams, and nothing will ever change that, but aye I know you port n adelaide have some little shit feast going on, so who am I to try and stop that.

Fact is both teams hate each other. They enjoy the other team losing. I'd say I'm happy when the Crows lose, but I don't go and rub it in their supporters' faces. You can rub it in our face when the Crows beat us in a GF and only then. At the moment you look like a fool because the Crows didn't make it to the GF, so you have nothing to hang on Port. We had a better season than you...acknowledge that

Gotta be in it to win it. If you make enough Grand Finals you give yourself a good chance of winning some of them!
Cwood has been in 40 odd Grand Finals and just the way the cookie crumbles ended up with 14 flags. But the only way they were going to get there (14) was by showing up each time.

Was a pathetic Port display to lose so badly, but I cannot see this tailspinning the club into some depression etc. The only reason teams like Collingwood or Geelong can keep coming back to Grand Finals is by moving on from past defeats. Port will be back in the next 3-5 years with another flag or two. Ironically, BECAUSE of this defeat as well.....the hunger to redeem. Clubs like Port can only get so successful by bouncing back from their share of defeats too....We won 35 grand finals (in our history), but we've lost 33 too!

I firmly believe that Geelong side would've torn any team a new one on Saturday. Far too good and worthy winners. I'd rather my side came 2nd than anywhere else behind the pack.
