Not really. Just depends how much Richmond really want Martin.
A good offer may just surprise but not sure it would be Collingwood offering it up. Maybe somewhere north?

From all reports, Richmond and Martin management group aren't that far apart. Somewhere in the range of $50K - $100K. Can't see him leaving though. He'd cost way too much to prize out of Richmond, and i'm not sure he'd be the type of character you'd want at your footy club having paid so much for him.

Just from the money point of view, Richmond looked after him when GWS came poking around after he'd only been at Richmond for a year. Would have thought he'd take what was on offer from them and look for the big contract next time.

My credible source is proving to be just that. Gws have too much invested in Buddy, Collingwood have apparently offered $700,000. Paying way too much but that's football these days.

Would be a poor look for Collingwood after they said that "Players holding clubs to ransom isn't what they were about" if they do sign Martin.

I don't understand why Buckley would go after him after his whole spiel about wanting and needing to change the culture at the club
He ain't worth $700k, Thomas ain't worth $700k. In happy for Carlton to offer Thomas this amount because it creates other problems for them. But if Collingwood think Martin is worth more than $500k, I'd be most surprised.
