obviously found one in recent times but your probably right.realistically you'd be playing in a stronger league than the mcdfl if you really want to be spotted..
still , enjoyed playing in it though.good hard footy.

He was hampered by injury for much of the year. When he did play he led by example and is highly rated both by the playing group and around the club. Will be a big loss if Hammo doesn't go around again in 09.

He got an infection in his knee soon after he had the op but i believe things are goin well 4 him right at the moment

expect maldon to slide dramatically. they had their 1 crack last year like they do every now and then, never a gradual thing. carisbrook have lost a few out of their senior side, but they'll recruit well no doubt, they're always silent

Talbot seem to have been pretty busy, where is the North Bendigo connection, new coach?? Are all of the players senior guys??

Also see a couple of regular MCDFL guys from other clubs signing with Creek... Geoff McLean the Harcourt premiership ruckman seems to have put in a clearance - now why would he do that to himself???????????????

Very interesting that Joffa McLean is heading out to creek. Good player. I noticed last year he put in 3 clearances to Marong and then decided to stay for whatever reason. Obviously not very happy with the apple eaters. Creek will need to recruit a few to be competitive.

Yeah the North Bendigo guys have come with the coach. Those two are definately senior players. Hard to say with all the rest before we have had a game but most of them all look pretty handy. Time will tell.

I would expect we will see more clearances come to light in the coming weeks. I thought I read D Graco was heading back out to Carisbrook from Maryborough to join his brother out there. By the way can anyone else hear the tumbleweeds rolling through this thread? Any other news out there people??

Surprising there is very little chat on here about the coming season:

Starting from Last years Premiers here goes my pre season review-

Carisbrook
Ins: Carmody, Graco, Carr
Outs definite: McIntosh,
Roumered non starters: Harris, Heenan, Robinson, Treacy, T. Wright
Retiring: Ross, Gorman, Edwards

Summary: Good inclusion with Carmody, but far from coverring their losses to date. If the roumered ones do go or retire Carisbrook could find it hard to go back to back IMO.


Maldon
Ins:Gatti, Whithead, Winstanley
Outs: Lea, Crapper (x2), Petterson, Green, Macnee, Bell, Lacee, Mazur, Healy
Roumered non starters: Burchells (x2), Cummins

Summary: Purely going from the ins and outs haven't covered their losses. With the roumered departures of both Burchells and Cummins could be a lot different year to last year. Wonder if Lauchy Brown will play on if the side isn't looking like a flag chance or go back to Castlemaine for the 150th year?


Harcourt
Ins: None to date
Outs: S. Smith, McClean, Bell, Stone,
Retiring: Browne Kerr

Summary: Cannot see them being better, lost too many key players IMO. Will lack fire power up forward if Stone, Smith and Brown Kerr are all gone. Bell a big loss also.


Avoca
Ins: Field (roumered)
Outs: Coglan, Svillic, Hunt, Lloyd, Adams
Roumered non starters: Hamilton, Ross (x2)

Summary: Massive loss Coglan, real excitement machine. No doubt he will be covered though if the roumered signing of Field is true. Will be the leagues best player by a mile. I think Avoca are short priced favourites for the flag this year.


Talbot
Ins: Birthisel, Smythe, Thathcher, Watson, Solomon,Parker
Outs: None to date
Roumered non starters: I. Martin, Cunningham

Summary: All pending on Prickles, if he goes they will struggle to be as good as they were last year IMO. Great footballer and top leader (exactly what Castlemaine would be looking for!)


Newstead
Ins: Ford, Bright, Ramsey, Timmins, Collings, Freeeman, Lacey, Carson,
Outs: Barden, Haddock (x2), Whitfield, Dubbens

Summary: Will be in the top three. Very good inclusions into a side that was competitive for a lot of last year.


Dunolly
Ins: Sanders, McNamee, Liddicoat, Stewart, Schupan, Charleston, Collins, Allen, Gault, Morse, Pask
Outs: Taylor

Summary: Will be better then last year, by how much who knows. Think inroads were made last year and a continual progression of impovement will be seen over the next few seasons under Sanders and McNamee. Maybe a few more signings also if what i'm told is right.


Rovers
Ins: none to date
Outs: Hind, Thompson, Perry (x2), Carr
Roumered non starters: John Hind, Clarke

Summary: Won't be as good as last year. Will lack genuine quality to mix it with the top teams IMO. If Sellers was to come back that would help their cause significantly


Royal Park
Ins: Davison, Perry, Coombes
Outs: Wolfenden, Henderson, Moore, Bennet

Summary:
Meant to have been training hard and do have quite a few more players signed from what i am told. Will improve on last year, no idea how much by though. Least they are back going in the right direction

Trentham
Summary: Picked up a few but lost a heap of quality. Will be a long year i would suggest.

Campbells Creek
Summary: Picked up a few. Will still be a long year i would suggest.
