Money doesn't seem to be an issue for Rovers this season. Hind is a good pick up because he has been and done what Rovers want.

Rumour is they have offered all signing players a premiership bonus.

I have heard this too. They are starting to put together a reasonable side. Clarke's knee is reportably shot anyway according to him so we will see what return they get out of him.

I never mentioned anything about violence against Clarke... I'm just saying I'm sure the boys will be keen to do well against Rovers!

Most people are forgetting that they have only had 1 bad year out of the past 3. 2005 being a GF loss, 2006 3rd and then bundled out in straight sets, followed by a 5th last year. They're not doing too badly and bringing Hind, Clarke, Featherston and Handley could firm them up as a Grand Final chance.

haha not sure whether ritchie has that in him but im sure he will have a crack...might have to get inline though...will be very interesting to see whether he even fronts up first game though...

obviously money talks!!!!!

Might have to get in line? I'm sensing you Talbot fellas have not taken kindly to the possibility of David Clarke leaving.

Round 1 Friday night blockbuster clash!!!
Rovers v Hawks could be the headline act that spirals the MCDFL into stardom!!! Pre book tickets this one is sure to sell out. Steve will be there.

I would wager he wont front up for the first game. His knee will be playing up! :)

Glenn Handley to Burra last I heard??? Is this not still the case???

Not forgetting Butch Kennedy and Jayden Hind are two more very handy pickups.

well obviously not..this is the 2nd time he has left us now, and has been scouting around with several other clubs in the league to see what he can get as an offer aswell...not to mention his little stint with maryborough last year that was enabled by the club. personally i believe to play for 3 different clubs in the one league and scout around with others is a no no and just asking for trouble. yes he is a good footballer and u would have him in your starting 18 anyday but the way the situation has been handled is very poor... your spot on though steve, expect round one to be a great clash as we are playing for the barras & melbourne trophy aswell, promises to be a blockbuster!!!!!!

Just wondering how many players are on the bench in a seniors game in this league. I watched a couple of finals 2 years ago and I was pretty sure there was 4. Is that correct? Most leagues are still using only 3.

bendigo league uses 4 i/c in ressies, but as u say johnnie just the 3 in the seniors

mcdfl boys must be delighted now that bendy bank has climbed on board as the league's major sponsor

Definately 4 for both seniors and reserves. I'd prefer to see 3.

2 reasons: Can be hard to rotate that many players on and off the field and in this age of dwindling numbers every one counts for the reserves.

Will he be a starter in the ones?

Simo

Too hard to tell and depends on the preseason he has put in. It will probably be the benchmark of how Rovers are travelling. Was in and out at Brook last year from memory. I think he played the final against Harcourt where they went down by 3 points.

Brad Ross & Lloydy back to Brook. Are the Robinsons from Natte heading back also?? These players should give the Brook the goalkicking power that they lacked from last season. Will be equal favourites with Harcourt for the flag with these inclusions I would think.

One would think the standard of the league should improve this year.... at least the top 6 sides anyway. Hopefully the bottom end sides can be reasonably competitive for most of the year.

Campbells Creek still no clearances in.... Probably not a good sign for them one would think.

Delegates meeting at Avoca tonight - should have a clearer picture of the Campbell's Creek situation after tonight's meeting. The only Campbell's Creek clearance listed is that of former Avoca premiership player Tony Meade's son Jamie to North Bendigo. Obviously Jamie must have had a year away from football last season.

I would imagine that the state of the grounds will also be a hot topic and it will be interesting to see if the season can commence on the intended starting date of 5th April.

Is it correct Wonker that if Creek pulls the pin the season wont kick off until 19th of April? Draw will be decided on officially tonight and released tomorrow so I'm told.

Getting underway on time ic crucial. The draw is set up so every team plays twice and it is the fairest draw we have ever had. Clubs need to be pro-active and get their ovals up as mother nature prob wont provide much assistance.

Talbot is a long way off but is far better than at the same time last year and we would have it up by the start date. Avoca looking good I take it Wonker??I stopped by at Hedges the other day.... it looks shite.
