Now to find out who Dorm Boy is. Do I mention you in this post???
As I said in previous post Smith kicke a few, Blake came good in the second half and Stone was well held. Balshaw goes well (for an old bloke:p ) Bell and McMurtrie had good games and Berry kicked a couple when he came back on. Cassidy did a good job on Tunny in the 1/2 half. If you're Dorm Boy Damien, I already know you. Mclean was too mobile in the ruck and Hutchy (that's what they were calling him) played well on up back and even kicked a goal in the third. Makepeace was on a wing but I thought he was beaten by Hayden Mckendry in his second full game. Other than that no others really stood out or caught my attention. I left out Carson, Pearson and Thompson. Have I mentioned you yet????

alright you might have mentioned me.

How did you go on the weekend Dormboy?? Snap a few from the Boundary??

i dont think dormboy would have snapped many as he is predominately a back line player ie. held tonne well first 1/2 , i believe that dormboy may be damien cassidy number 23? although not sure, can u verify this?

Wesley Hill????

I'm thinking along the same lines as Sherman41. Are you called Dorm Boy because you used to live in at Assumption College?

What a touching moment! Now we have that sorted we can perhaps talking loosely about MCDFL football again! :)

so kingRich what do you have to say about any of the games on the weekend

well isnt this a touching moment two long lost friends reunited throught the internet and through our very special thread at that too. Good to c our threaD is good for something other than talking crap.

:thumbsu: ok rich think about this one
harcourt leads the entire vcfl for highest percentages (we r talking senior teams and clubs here, not the scooby doos) with a percentage of --- 428.88

next best is the upper murray f.l. club federal with 382.14 then warburton/millgrove in div. 2 of the yarra valley/mountain f.l. with 324.49 per cent
the apple eaters just scraped home over newstead by 104 points so their percentage dropped from 440 on saturday at 2 pm to 428.88 sat nite

wots going on rich ?? harcourts average winning margin is 168 points
thats not a competition, its whose going to finish 2nd and 3rd behind them

At the moment this is the case 5th Q! I have no answers for you, at the moment they are far too good for anyone in the league. We have some good sides in the league in Rovers and Newstead and Royal Park,Avoca, Talbot, Carisbrook and Maldon are handy senior sides with plenty of Talent. Harcourt are just very good. Hopefully the second half of the season will see this even out!

Thanks for taking the time to prepare those informative stats for us! I'm sure someone, somewhere has got something out of that:p

Well Dorm Boy my man firstly I will start with Talbot v Dunolly as I watched this game. To Dunolly's credit they played very good football and were let down by a lack of forwards. Their top 3-4 players are very good they are just let down by their depth. They were hard at it, make good decisions and prob deserved to win the game. Talbot on the other hand, although they were undermanned, played terrible football and thought it would just happen. Hopefully they can find some motivation for this weeks danger game against Maldon to keep their season alive.

Harcourt v Newstead shocked me to tell you the truth. Shocked me until I heard that Oliver and Christmas were both out. These 2 contribute I would imagine half of the teams score every week and without them they would severely struggle. Christmas is super important across Half forward and can also go into the ruck. Harcourt looked very good when they played Talbot this year as I have said previously. Very well balanced side, great skills, super fit and seem to have many many options inside 50 which makes it hard to shut down their goal scoring power. I'm looking forward to seeing them play again and hopefully Talbot can put in a respectable performance against our arch rivals.

Avoca v Rovers went as expected for me. I knew Avoca would have a crack with the 3 players leaving there last year for Rovers. Would have added a bit of spice to the game. Glen Wills getting cleared to Maryborough will kill off any chance Avoca had to getting near a Preliinary final berth this year, they just dont have the goal scoring power unfortunately.

does anyone have any tips for this weeks games?

I think Talbot may be on the improve this week against Maldon, I hear a top quality senior player will be back this week for Talbot? Came through the two's last week and dominated!:D

Simo?

Bit early for my customary Friday tips but I am bored!

July 8 Round Eleven
Rovers v Trentham - This could be a fair blowout if conditions are dry! Small ground and Trentham away from home. 40 goals

Newstead v Avoca - This game could be the close one of the round. If Christmas and Oliver are still out then I think Newstead will struggle to kick a winning score! Best chance Avoca will have for an upset but you would think Newstead's class and experience should get then over the line! Newstead by 24points

Royal Park v Harcourt - Harcourt are a mile ahead of the pack and should give Bushy a football lesson on the wide expanses of Hedges Oval. I noticed Stewy Egan not in the goal kickers last week so if he is out Bush have absolutely no avenue to goal. Harcourt by 100 points

C/Creek v Carisbrook - Carisbrook seem to be slowly finding a little bit of form. Creek are no good and on the small ground may negate the fact that Brook dont have a dominant CHF. Brook by 120 points

Talbot v Maldon - This game is going to be very tight! Maldon probably cant make the finals, if Talbot drop this game it will make it very tough for them. With so much on the line and hopefully a couple of inclusions into the lineup I expect the Talbot side to come out on top in a very physical and tight game! Talbot by 24 points.

Dunolly bye

well i pretty sure chtistmas is not playing and as for oliver not sure so i think avoca might get over the line this week.

Most people are saying Oliver has a broken collarbone from a few weeks ago so if that is the case then he def wont be playing. What is wrong with Christmas??
