Ahh, shut up and mind your own business, go harass someone else. Have you got Ocd or something, you tell me I'm whining but you're whining about me whining. Take it for what it is, and that's someone making a sacrifice when others are demanding more.
 
So what’s the go here? Are we holding him and trying to smooth out his money?

So if he’s contracted at $550k next year we say how about we extend you an extra year or two and make it $800k over 2 years or $1.2M over 3. Make him a $400k per year player. Seems more like it.

Saves us $150k next year and gives Maso certainty that he’s contracted for next year and beyond.

Sorry, shouldn't put you on the spot like that. Rude of me to ask questions but thanks for your thoughtful well considered and laid out response whatever it was.
 
Is Cox he problem or is it the coach with his dumb game plan?

He scares the shit out of defenders as if they ball is delivered properly to him they simply can't spoil. Yes he has some limitations but he is a weapon and they are hard to find at the best of times. Our movement of the ball this year was utterly pitiful, one game we went fast and direct and he tore West Coast apart.

I actually think our gameplan suits Cox perfectly.

Hes used for two things:
1. bomb it long and put it on his head - we do this well when we go long, but the problem is that we can often be dicking around with the ball in that Wing/HFF area. I also put this down to a messy forwardline structure last year, how many games did we play with Miochek, Cox, JDG and Stephenson all in the same team?

2. The down the line get out of trouble kick on the wing, which he is really good for. That second kick after kicking out from full back is where we generate a lot of our attack from. The problem though, is that with Cox that far up the field, we dont have the tall timber to kick it to. This is where youd expect Check, JDG and Stephenson to step up and react on the burst. But as previously mentioned, how often did this combination play? I don't think you can rely on Thomas and WHE to be at the same level as the others.

Agree, hence why I mentioned fast movement, move it fast kick it long to him and the defenders go into panic mode. Even McGovern struggles when that happens. It was also interesting to see that v the Toast he did not take the front position in a lot of cases, he either attacked from behind or from the side where he was actually able to hold his ground and take the grab.

As I said he has limitations but name two forwards who have ripped Rance and McGovern new ones. There is a lot to work with and he is still very young re footy knowledge. He is also a very good tap ruckman.

Our biggest problem is injuries, second biggest is the coach who seems to really struggle.

FWIW, I really believe that Mason is worth hanging onto if the money is right, which it seems it will be. As mentioned by others, he really puts the fear of God into defenders because they don't want to be the one he has a field day on. And on his day he is capable of doing it to anybody. If the small sample of evidence we saw that his body work and reading the play is improving he could prove well worth it. But please....not at another club.

I believe 2021 is the year where Mason Cox either kicks 30 goals + or simply become's a bloke on the chopping block since he's not getting any younger
