Mason generates extreme examples of posters who focus on the negative versus those who focus on the positives. I’m in the latter camp and I’d rather he was in than out of the team.

He was playing under an eye injury cloud last year, so should not be judged by that. See how he goes this season, and he’s started well enough. Very well enough.

People can say whatever they want about him, but he’s our most important forward. We always kick to him 80 meters out from goal. He rarely gets out marked. Always gets man handled. He does what he needs to do.

Could he stick more marks? Absolutely.
Could he lead better? Absolutely.

For the moment, he’s the best we got. If we didn’t have Cox in the team, we would struggle. Defenders panic when he’s around.
 
Saw something from Cox last night that was a little concerning ...

... he went up for one uncontested mark above his head ... with his eyes closed and head not tracking the ball.

For a contested mark, would hardly blame him with all the fingers he’s gotten in his eyes over the journey. But uncontested?
 
I think if a "bad performance" from Cox still results in kicking 2.3 I'm happy enough. Of course I want more, but it's a win and a decent performance. Cox is a very hot or cold player, it has to be said

I had a good view at the game, and Cox gets his fair share of opportunities. There were a number of occassions he was in good position for the incoming ball and Weitering simply nudged him from the side and he was then completely out of the contest.

He got out marked at least 5 times last night we need to stop running the falsehood that “he doesn’t get out marked”

He kicked 2.3. That’s 5 marks / free kicks.

Lets not forget every contest he’s been to that spills out a goal to a small forward.

Mate you are fake news. He played on Jones close to goal but Weitering took him up the field who also had 7 intercept possession. Also neither of us have accounted for Plowman or Doc coming across third man up and marking it
 
Cox is as important to our side as is Moore the other end. a 7 ft player gets a shit load of attention from the opposition, if he was left one on one he would kick 50+ in a year. At this stage he is the best we have, we just need to get our smalls around him and work through that better to compliment him.

Could have easily kicked 4 goals.
The tide has turned the, unlike yourself, the NEUTRALS are now seeing his value.

All the nuffs always say his value to the side is he draws extra defenders and never gets outmarked it’s simply not true. Was beaten point blank on a number of occasions last night by his direct opponent one on one. I forget the fact that on big footy you can relentlessly bag Grundy and others who actually contribute but can’t say a bad word about Cox.
