Masten Criticism

Well I have won $105 dollars in the last two weeks thanks to Masten getting the most possesions so in my eyes he is better than Chris Judd, Gary Ablett, Nick Dal Santo.... :)

Also did anyone else notice the lack of attention he got from the commentators? I mean he got the most possesions in the game by about 10 possesions yet the commentators didnt really give him much of the spotlight... which I think might hamper his RS nomination. Is this the case or was it my hangover which made me not notice it as much?

I heard them say Masten was excellent more than once but Rich played a blinder for Brisbane.:(

He only turned over the ball a few times from what I saw and he did spear some pretty good passes. I guess people can't say that Palmer's better than him now as he's racking up disposals just like Palmer does.

It was a great game by Masten.

It was not that he got the pill 38 times, it was the fact that he was desperate and clearly was your best player.

He threw himself in and won the ball on a couple of occassions where he clearly was in no position to win it.

OK some turnovers, but nothing as pronounced as what I have seen previously ....plus he was under a fair bit of pressure and had more than a few passengers around him.

Best game I have seen him play - hope to see it more the week after next.

What's with everyone calling the footy the pill lately? It's weird as shit

Masten seems to be playing better every week, hopefully when he's fully recovered from his OP he'll play even better,

It is actually a very old footy saying not a new one.

My old coach used to say it is called the pill, because when you get it - it makes you feel better....probably not a good thing to say to kids today.

just wanted to post that i think the kid obviously had a good game and hope you will continue to be pleased with his development.

Thanks PK, but some of us will never be pleased. :p

Yep, that's exactly the way I expected him to play Moo, the really fighting to win the ball, that's his personality to a T.

Had to chuckle at your wishing him well in a fortnight.:D It doesn't make for a pretty game next weekend though, will be better when both teams are further up the ladder.:thumbsu:

I did. I'd love to make highlights videos...

but I don't know how to get it from the HDD of the STB to my PC.

if you do end up making a highlights video could you put a few highlights of nicknat as well(didn't get to watch the match):thumbsu:

Great Game by Masten 2day and i think next year after a full pre season, people from all over the country will start to reconise how gd he will be. Has caught up to Palmer imo. Masten >>> COusins ;)

he gets more of the ball than rich, he just doesent do as much with it

hmmm, somewhere around i think i still have the U18 game where they along with palmer and nick nat tear vic metro a new one

Great game if he plays like that next week we could lose the derby and he gets the Glendinning medal.

That would be interesting to see there reaction.

Great game by him...

What I really enjoyed seeing was his pace. A couple of times he broke out of the pack and burst away and looked pretty quick.
Agreed, one time in the last quarter it was particularly noticeable - nothing came of it, but he put 2-3m on a couple of Port players in no time.
