Game Day Match Sim - Roos v Tigers - Arden St - 10am

So its early days but we look so much better than we have for three years at least and really for most of this century. Ar least in terms of praccy games and pre-season games.

The structure everywhere is so much better.

Ball movement is great. The best thing is that its aggressive, we look to move into space forward of the ball carrier and work hard to get into position.

And for the first time in years we are quick to take the first option. Instead of assessing options we take the first one as soon as we can and work hard off the ball to provide that option for team mates. The speed of our thinking/instinctive play is improved and so everything else looks better.

If we keep this up for a couple of years we'll be very hard to beat. I don't remember us starting a pre season game like this for ... well I can't remember the last time.

It's only the first quarter of a practise match but already I feel a lot happier about where we are at than at any stage last season. The midfield looks strong, even without Simpkin and Cunnington, the defense looks very solid with Logue and McKay and very dynamic when Goater gets his hands on the ball. Stephenson looks very good and Zurhaar in the middle is going to make life very interesting for the opposition. Still not entirely happy with some of the entries into the forward 50, but overall it's hard not to be a little excited after the last few years of crap we have had to endure.

Well for mine there were obvious standouts, but I'm happier with our structure, for as long as I can recall we got sucked into the fucling contest. Opp just could run in waves. Now we hang back and guard space, about blardy time. We're putting pressure and awaiting the turn over then we are running in waves.

Richmond kicked fwd and we outnumbered them.
