Best and Fairest in the best season by a side ever ahead of James Hird and the 100+ goal kicking Coleman medallist says otherwise. :thumbsu:
I thought you said it was easy to be a defender in a dominant side?

Fletcher AA at 31 in a 12th placed side.

Scarlett at his prime in a bottom 8 side in 2006............... no AA, no surprise. Fletcher better playing in a premiership side, better playing in a bad side, 2 flags > 1.

QED! Fletcher > Scarlett :thumbsu:

Keep on punching Guzz, maybe if you type Fletcher > Scarlett 100 more times, someone will care.

Why not start a poll and prove your point
Like I give a shit what a bunch of brain dead sheep on Big Footy think. Besides, this one puppet who rabbits on about how little merit everything I say has just can't help to reply to it all in this thread and was so insecure after getting pwned that he already started a poll to try and get some comfort from strangers over the internet, how embarrassment.:eek::eek:

whos better scarlet or fletcher ? well scarlett does sometimes stand close to the oppositions best forward so i guess he wins

as for scarlett comments that another flags in the bag ? how do you know hes wrong ? did he say the 08 flag ? nope he said another flag and hes spot on.scarlett knows like all cat fans that all great sides lose GF,s.The same was always going to happen to geelong. The reality is that this geelong side is so good they are just destined to win at least three premiership, its just destiny and theirs nothing anyone can do about it.

by the way their is one thing scarlo can learn of fletcher and thats to do the right thing by your club and retire when you become a liability and dont embarass yourself and prevent your club fromg going forward.

Glass absolutely murders both of them one on one with forwards.

Glass shades Scarlo in that area...Scarlo gives more rebound IMO. Both quality defenders of the highest calibre. Fletcher was good once but is now a shadow of his former self, which was not as good as Scarlo's best. There is a strong and consistent body of opinion that Scarlett is close to or the equal of SOS as the greatest FB. He is certainly up there.
Fletcher was a quality defender for sure. Just not in Scarlett's class.

Sheedy very rarely used Fletcher on the oppositions most dangerous forward. He gave less dangerous opponents that allowed him up the ground creating options.
When fletcher does play on the fevola's & marking forwards he gets found out more often than not even with those telescopic arms of his. he just didn't have the pace to keep up with the forwards.
Scarlett seems to be swung onto dangerous forwards during games to negate them whereas Fletcher was allowed to continue his easier option on the weaker opponent so he can keep running and making space.
Scarlett for mine as the better backman as he just doesn't have bags of goals kicked on him like Fletcher does.

Not much to say really - washed up hack towells up washed up hack in spectacular fashion. Lloyd did not win a single contest, that freebie goal was pure luck.

Scarlett's performance had nothing to do with the dominance of the Cat's midefield? I could have held Lloyd goalless today if I played in a team with the midefield dominance of Geelong. By the way how crap is Mooney, he let his opponent (Hooker) run the length of the ground and kick a goal (should have been two). He is a liability for you guys.

So what your effectively saying iss Lloyd is rubbish and should be dropped from your team?

No. I am saying that Scarlett's job on Lloyd was made far easier by the fact that no ball was coming into our forward 50. Lloyd had hardly any opportunities because the ball never came his way. Scarlett, however, still won the duel, but much of this can be attributed to the performance of your midfield.

Nearly cost us the game that. Disgraceful effort by Mooney.
