I personally don't like him at half back but with Dempsey running rampant I can see it stickingIs it likely Holmes gets left at half back now that he's made a success of it? Or is he chance to move back up onto the wing or on-ball?
How about a universal love thread?
Universal Love - Brad Close
I can't find another thread on this guy, so I'm starting one. Just saying I love what he brings to the table. Fantastic vision. Lost count of the times his quick 'gives' have opened up the play and resulted in goals. Should nick name him 'the can opener' Pressure and closing speed are also top...www.bigfooty.com
Yep.Eh. He's nominally half back but effectively wing, and that seems to be working.
Was Micky Turner unusual in the sense he bounced with left hand and kicked with right?
That's a bit like me with my left foot kicking, using right hand.
Is he better than Micky Turner?

Agree. Arguably the best No.9 to play for Geelong. One of the best wingmen in the mid 70's and then transformed into a talented CHF.What a jet he was - loved watching him live.
Pace to burn , attacking player with great skills - would be right up there today with the way he played.
He is our best player under 30. He will play in the guts for sure.Is it likely Holmes gets left at half back now that he's made a success of it? Or is he chance to move back up onto the wing or on-ball?

I remember it was Ricky Barham and Mick Turner. Sadly, I don't think they ever played on each other in a game
Turner, Barham, Flower, Greig, Schimmelbusch, Hawkins, Wood, Eade- that era was blessed with elite wingers, but imho, Turner was the most exciting and quickest, Flower and Greig the most skilled, but only just.Agree. Turner was my favourite Cat until Senior.
Brilliant speed, but also an exceptional mark for his height.
Rapt to see those highlights.
Turner was a superstar. And still would be today.
Loved Robbie. What a playerYou would think his game would be perfectly suited to today.
Likewise Robert Flower.
