The umpires were right there and heard it. I don't know whether Petterd pursued it or not, but it doesn't matter.

Once it was heard by the umpires, they felt they had a responsibility to take it further, and the process and sanction is as I said earlier entirely consistent with the respect to women policy the AFL has.

I don't think it's fair in any way to blame Petterd for this being actioned the way it has tbh.

Dont think thats right. Umpires would not have actioned it without checking with petterd first. and it was clear he kept going on about it. so then umpries had no choice.

had petterd told umpires to forget about it would not have gone further. umpires hear alot of things each game. if they actioned everything, jesus we would have chaos. they dont.

maybe mcginnity should get umpires to report petterd for kill you jibe. i would have thought threatening to kill someone is illegal let alone insulting. its not like Mcginnity was actually going to go and rape his mother now is it.
