Love him.
Mick please chuck him in the middle of the ground during any time at any game we play. Look at the size of him, and what he did against freo. He runs through blokes..His toughness his required not only in the firward line but all over the ground, not for a whole game, just spurts, for 10 mins.

I was happy with goldsack yesterday..was very confident with himself, which is great for a bloke in his 4th game.

Cloke was fantastic..

Rocca made Ben Holland look like a gun, which shows how bad rocca went.

Pie fans must remember its one loss, we aint the best team in the comp, melbounre havent been flogged this year even though they are 2nd last, they have been competitive, so they are no push over, it was always gonna be a tough game, dont blame umpires, or mis matches, melbourne just wanted the ball more, and used it a bit better then us... We can easily bounce back against the swans..we have the wood over them up there, so im feeling pretty confident :)

Will be our best win for the year if we do cause we have a massively inexperienced backline against a well drilled and experienced forward line. Far more effective then the Melbourne one which struggled but for one guy who we couldn't buy a decent matchup for.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but is this about Paul Medhurst?

F**king chuck him to Williamstown

Medhurst will never be a 20-touch player (on a consistent basis) becuse he doesn't get many opportunities but when he does he will make the most of it, he isn't that sort of player that gets a dozen kicks unless he's having a memorable one. If he can't kick 2 goals a game (at least), he will always get criticized because his job is to kick goals, and he hasn't done this of late, simple as that. I would keep him in the side for now.

If he is moved into the midfield at any time he has to improve his field kicking which at the moment is garbage.

I don't know how many times this year I've seen him kick over the heads or short of players in the clear. He's a decent shot at goal but from what I've seen of his passing abilities, they leave a lot to be desired.

his a forward that can kick massive bags, why change him? dont we have enough mids and forwards we are turning into mids like didak

His disposales are too sloppy for playing on the ball. If he gets that right then a big maybe.

Medhurst is a better player than Davis :thumbsu:
Nowhere near Davis. The only thing they have in common is that they both have a habit of going missing for long periods during the game. Davis makes up for it with his skill level though.

Medhurst is a really good small leading forward pocket player - if you have the structure for that in a game he can be awesome (kicked 9 goals against Brisbane once doing that).

But he is not a midfielder or even that crash hot on the HF line. We tried for several years and it didn't work, besides we had Farmer to play in the pocket. Last year we finally decided to stop trying to squeeze Medhurst and Farmer into the same team and Farmer bags 55 goals for the year.....

Ok lets get something straight. You cannot compare Leon Davis and Paul Medhurst to eachother, they are a COMPLETELY different type of player all together. Davis does what he does best and we love him for it and Paul needs to stay in the role he is in now and we'll just have to wait. He WILL come good, (mark my words).

Classic short guy that tries to and can only seem to play as a tall forward.

Decent on a lead if he has space to lead into however, not exceptional pace. Average below his knees and not many tricks in the kit bag, doesn't seem to possess much of a footy brain, decision making is questionable when a snap at goal from anywhere will do.

We got him as a bonus really and not what the trade/deal was all about. I remain pessimistic about Medders but he does appear to be having a crack and genuinely seems to be working on some of his deficiencies.

Loved it when in a practice game MM's first message to Medders via the runner was 'tell him he's allowed to handball at Collingwood'.

Midfielder, oh my lordy no!

I'll be happy enough if he can manage to kick 20 or 30 from a pocket this season. I remain A Medhurst sceptic.

Ok I shouldn't have said Medders is a better player than Davis.

Davis this year has just been so great, but over their careers.. you could argue Medhurst has been the better player.

He's a great size and if he could up his fitness and skills he'd be a gun midfielder imo.

He's a very long kick too, so chuck anthony rocca in the goal square, and medhurst to bomb it long into the goal square with davis at his feet, and you're gonna cause alot of problems.

I love his size, could hurt a few players with some nice body work.

I'm hoping that Medhurst turns out like Broadie Holland. Much of Medhurst's early form reminds me of Hollands 1st year at Pie land.
He needs a solid pre-season to work on his fitness & weist size...

With Medurst and Didak both firing on game day defenders would have a pretty hard job controlling the Collingwood forward line
