Schache doesn't seem like an extroverted confident kid in all his interviews... seems like he doubts himself a bit. Let's just hope he has a serious case of white line fever.

He's 18. Give him 5 minutes to mature a bit.

Re Close he is our best moving big forward, he could be a classic new age CHF. But his game sense is lacking and I dont like some of the patterns he runs, hopefully he has used the 12 months to study the game. I think he will be there. Walker, Freeman, Schache cant cover the ground Close does.

I think close will be in the mix but I notice a lot of people down play the mobility of the other key forwards. Walker and Scache are both 14 plus beep test runners. Not quite to Close standards but still very good for KPP. Freeman is definitely more the stay at home option but also adds a different dimension with his athleticism height combination and contested/pack marking ability.

How good is young Keaysy. Just a genuinely happy, passionate Lion. I need whatever he is smoking.
Lovely to see a kid living his dream.
Hope he has a long and successful career.

I don't think putting games into a number 2 draft pick who performed like Schache has as a Junior could qualify as "putting games into him for the sake of it".

He is an elite talent drafted. The club has extremely high expectations of him in 2-3 years.... The only way he'll get to that level is by playing/banking senior games....

The Elite talent is no doubt there.... Just needs the game hardening experience
No, banking games before he is ready doesnt make sense. He has come out of playing 18's football where he has a size advantage. There will be a lot of things he can learn in the two's. By saying you want to bank games into kids at the start of the year, we are giving up the year before it has started. If he is in best 22 well and good, otherwise learn his craft in the two's.

Freeman and Close arent really going for the same position, they are very different players. Close should be working hard up the field, while Freeman is the superior contested mark. Walker is somewhere in the middle. I see Schache and Freeman contesting for a position, I couldnt see you could play both.

It's a tough one. The good thing is with all our keys up and about, we won't feel obliged to play him early. If he puts his hand up with early pre season form, then he'll be looked at imo. Common sense approach.

Team down the bottom of the ladder with one of the few clubs with the coach coming to the end of his contract. No real surprises there. Just hope we dont have any knee jerk reactions to the media early in the year

I'm guessing it's plausible that both Leppa and the club are happy for a new contract to be delayed but it's not a great sign that the club hasn't re-signed Leppa after publicly stating that they wanted to earlier in the year. He'll get another contract. Hopefully only 2 years.

Ok, the Vic Meeja-groupthink-baa-baa-sheep-writers are never going to call it. But

FIGJAM has taken the premiers backwards down the ladder in each of his years as coach. He should be first against the wall when the revolution comes.

Here is his record:
2012 - 4th
2013 - 6th
2014 - 11th
2015 - 12th

and this was after two years at 1st under Mick

After almost receiving the wooden spoon, i can see why the club have withheld contract talks.
