THis was over a year ago wasn't it?? WTF is he doing?

Leppa comfirmed that ZOB approached the club recently and sort clarification that the incident wasnt linked to his eventual departure.

The club told him it wasnt and leppa said both sides were happy.

Would have thought he would have left 'clear' on that in the first place given the welfare focus and the fact it would have been an obvious question - reality was, he was a step slow and not AFL standard..

Barrett maintains he is still pursuing that issuevwith the AFLPA - Barrett got the Rocky captain issues right last year, who knows he might have a good source at the club.

I heard the ZOB incident had a huge ripple effect at the club as he was a liked character, hope theres nothing to it.

It doesn't matter if ZOB was well liked but the fact is that he wasn't good enough. There were no other clubs interested.

yeah..a contributing factor in that not being "good enough" would be attitude problems.

Zac Obrien apparently going to the AFLPA over the incident with Leppa. As reported by the purple headed warrior.
is that for real or a joke? if the former zacs picture needs to be next to soft in the dictionary. how would he have handled the brutal honesty of people like lethal and vossy:'(?

Yeah don't get me wrong, I FULLY support his de-listing and don't think for a second that Leppa made the decision for any other reason than he was not making the grade.

He was given his chance after that incident and didn't capitilise.

All I meant was with the reference to it 'having a ripple effect' is it did have an impact around the club, so I hope this doesen't become a drawn out 'media feast' for 3 months if the matter becomes civil, because it is the last thing the club needs and given Leppas current position, it will be over reported to the max.

Suggestion of an unfair dismissal claim. Maybe we should counterclaim asking for his salary back.

I don't understand how that can be. Didn't his contract just expire? There was no dismissal as far as I can see.

Plus you're supposed to lodge a claim within 21 days. O'Brien might argue that lodging that claim would impact on his ability to get another AFL gig, but I'm not sure how the commission would regard applications made nine months later.

If O'Brien filed some sort of complaint at the time, then he might have a case for unlawful termination. Same time restrictions on lodging the claim though.

Wooden spoon here w come!

Barrett? Trying to be a "hard hitting journalist", but confusing it with "muckraker". It's understandable - the main difference is a grasp of facts, and Barrett has long shown that he doesn't like letting those get in his way.

And, three days on from the news, no more info. I think we can all agree it was just a beat up yeah?
