No the graph isn't linear - I was doing a projection based on the last two years sales. Between Dec and March the daily number generally average within a reasonably tight window and the needs to be centred around the 350 per day mark for us to maintain the advantage we have over last years numbers - if we don't maintain that advantage we wont hit target - even when playing and winning the sales during the season never hit great heights.

They have been added but they were spread out over several days hence why we saw 3 or 4 days there where each day the tally rose between 500-750 this was confirmed to me yesterday.

I feel kinda ripped off Now how will I know which player to cheer especially loud for?

I found myself getting a little sad watching the smaller numbers come through this week, but then I thought about it and while I love the graph (great work there!!) I am now looking at our journey to 75,000 in a different way.

Last year we stopped counting at 60,000. I would assume that our renewal (retention) rate would be approx 98-99% (lets say 98.5%) which means out of 60000 members from last year 59100 will renew. The timing of these isn't too important as people renew when they can, usually before the first game they can attend (well thats how I used to do it).

In a nutshell we need +/- 16,000 NEW members to reach our 75,000 target. Due to the "2014 = free 2013" campaign leading up to the finals series - we already have in excess of 5,500 new members. But we need over 10,000 more members who were not members last year, these can be new or returning members. I'm not sure what the club can do/is doing to attract new members in the off season. I imagine that once preseason and the season proper commence they will be a number of campaigns to attract new members, but until then it will be hard work.

While it's nice to see that total member count as it steps up day by day, I'd really love to see what our new member count is, as this to me is the more important number. I don't think we can judge our progress to the target without both numbers. e.g. what if out of the 40,000 members we have - 10,000 are new? That would be excellent! I expect it's in the 6,000 range but thats just my guess (and what do I know). At the end of the day - I know the club knows this number, so it also knows exactly where it stands in relation to the 75,000 target.

I wonder if there is any chance the club could display both numbers? certainly (for me at least) would make the membership count much more interesting!!

Just signed myself and the young bloke up for the first time (country adult and jnr + mrc) as i had a bit of spare cash for once and i gotta say it felt very corporate ... not so much as a thank you for becoming a member or when we could expect our membership packages .... anyway aside from whinging, it feels good to be a paid up member
