...I've just read he is a crazy Essendon supporter. (Just the kind we want playing in the Red and Black.) As I have little to no faith in Dodoro, can someone on here give him the heads up on him for the draft, please?
He is obviously really good, he is captain of his club, and named in the centre for the U18's All Australian team.
Instead of recruiting hit and miss plonkers, let's get someone who bleeds red and black.

I think Myers would be better playing as an attacking HBF that can push up the ground.
marvelous gf from the fat bastard & i know weve got a bit of premiership experience still on the park, but no doubting that dew played a major role in getting the inexperienced (finals wise) hawks over the line
so come draft day(s) should we be on the lookout for stewie dew type & who could that be?
I hear a lot of Myers-Hodge comparisons here.
Can anybody else see Myers becoming more of a Chad Cornes type?
Pick 5: Michael Hurley
Pick 23: Tom Swift
or
Pick 5: Steele Sidebottom
Pick 23: Jordan Lisle
Sidebottom was so self orientated that it looked like he was shutting everyone else out of the game when he was getting shots at goal for his tenth, like, fev junior. lol. "its all about me" lol. oh well, he was still a very good player might I ad..
If we pick up Sidebottom, which seems to be the talk of the town atm, then whos position does he fill, we have enough goal kicking midfielders, to be honest, i am all for going tall throughout this draft, and picking up some smaller men later in the draft and with our Rookie picks, why did Carlton take Kruezer before Cotching last year, any one, because they need a ruckmen, Cotching IMO will become a better AFL player, but the Blues needed a ruckmen, and he was best available, what I am saying is, we need Hurley, as we are in more need of key defenders than goalkicking mids, we already have enough of them in Welsh, Stanton, McVeigh, Lovett etc. think about things people,
His team mates where kicking the ball to him to get his tenth, Rockliff could have had two shots in the last but he passed it off. It was not about Sidebottom playing a me game at all. It was more his team mates trying to get him the 10th goal becasue they where 70 up and the game was over.

Agreed. Bit like Carlton boys trying to get Fev 100.
People seem to swaying on whether it should be kp or mid with pick 5.
Sidebottom seems to be this years drafts Dale Thomas.
As I mentioned last week Matthew Knights spent a lot of time at the Murray huddle at MC Labour park. Was it Ziebell or Sidebottom he was checking out?
Perhaps Essendon are happy enough with Pears, Daniher and Hooker that they will bypass a kp with Pick 5 if they think there is a gun midfielder to get?
How many A grade mids do we have ? Maybe you should take the blinkers off and think about things. Welsh , B grade mid. Stanton, B grade mid. McVeigh probably the closest to an A grade we have. Lovett, don't even get me started on him.
Then once you work that out you then look at the draft. This year there is a bot of a drop off from the top 5 or 6 quality mids to the rest. Yes we need defenders but there are more options further into the draft with the defenders.
Even more so if they rate guys like Lynch as a possible second round pick or Jayden post. Maybe Steve Gaertner a bit further in.
I really rate Lynch but I am not sure that he has the height to play kp back- Campbell Brown hurts my argument a bit though. Post from the Jets is underated and solid, Gaertner is a Hooker like punt all athleticism not sure if he is a footballer- He should have performed much better in the TAC this year. James Wall from Casey might be one to consider. Has bulked up a bit- his issue is speed off the mark.
Just the way that he gave the big fist pump when he took the mark to get his tenth, and the way he was so bitterly disappointed to not get it earlier, although, i would be stoked to kick ten in any match, let alone a grand final that could determine my future AFL plans,
any ways Ant, i presume you watched the grand final with interest, what are your thoughts on young Levi Casabolt, (No45 Stingrays) thought he was good playing as an undersized ruckmen, did a few good things around the ground too, seems like he could become almost a paddy ryder KPP, at AFL level, if he was to make it, has a nice leap to him, nice size too, also, Chris Doria (No4 Stingrays) kicked 3 goals, did a few nice things, was ok in the final, apparently has had a few interviews with Essendon, as late as last week, and we are apparently seriously lookin at him, later in the draft, i just wanted to know your thoughts on these kids, and was their any other players that you thought were ok, apart from the obvious ones (Sidbttom, Rockliff etc)
First things first you should not let the fact that you support the Rays cloud your judgment on Sidebottom
Levi Casboult - has a great leap and his skills are ok. Will be too small to ruck in the AFL but he is one player who could make a KPP . I have not seen the most recent state screening lists but he was not on the first list (from the 19th of sept)which does not make your chances of being picked up in the ND all that high. Would certainly be worth looking at for a rookie spot.
Like Casaboult , Diora was not on the first state screening list either.Diora is not a bad player. Pace is pretty good. Clearance work is ok. His kicking is what lets him down in a few games. Not making state screening would mean he is likely to be around the rookie draft if he gets picked up.
As far as other kids go i am a fan of Ash Smith. Did not have a great game in the GF but he is a supurb user of the ball and can kick it 50 meters of one step. I think he has a massive upside.

Essendon's two AFL NSW/ACT scholarship program selections are in Melbourne undergoing fitness, speed and conditioning assessment.
Club senior recruiting coordinator, Merv Keane, said 16-year-old, Ben Simon, is one-year into his two-year scholarship while 15-year-old, James Webster, starts his three-year scholarship in 2008.
"The purpose of this AFL program, which started this year, is to provide these players support and equipment and connect them to a club," he said.
"Essendon will then have priority in drafting these two players if we choose when they become eligible."
Simon, from the Newcastle district, is 197cm and 94 kg.
"He ran an excellent 20m sprint test and it's quite possible he will eventually be able to run it in under three seconds. He's only just off that now and for a boy of his height that will be in the elite class," Keane said.
"He's got the physical attributes but is still developing his understanding of the game which is what the scholarship is all about."
Simon has been involved in the Rising Rams talent squad in NSW and has already travelled to Melbourne on four occasions for training as part of the Essendon development program.
His next goal is to make the NSW U/18 State team and he attends TAFE College in Newcastle and is doing a course in personal fitness training.
Webster, from the Central Coast (Mark McVeigh country), is 180cm and 69kg.
"He is very footy smart and has very good ball handling skills. He was born in Tasmania so has a footy background," Keane said.
"He also had sprint, beep and agility tests and did extremely well in the agility test and beep test.
"He's been playing for the Gosford tigers and NSW U/15 State team which played extremely well in the National Championships this year and managed to beat Vic Country."
Webster's next goal is to make the NSW U/16 team. He is a year 10 student at Greenpoint Christian College in Gosford.
