Re: Arsenal

We have a real fight on our hands after a very ordinary performance against Villa. Villa outplayed us and we were very lucky to escape with a draw (even though we scored both goals!). Lets hope to regroup and get RVP back ASAP.

Sadly, this is going to be the case for a few weeks... the team is horribly underdone, with injuries and the like, and I fear that by the time we have any semblance of our preferred starting 11 Man U will have taken a bit of a lead.

Arsene had his opportunity to prepare for losses like RVP and Eduardo... Arsenal is the richest club in the world by proxy of paying very little comparitively for its players and not utilising the funds from the Henry sale.

Realistically, Arsenal could target absolutely any player in the world and be able to come up with enough dosh to lure them... I think we should have made a bigger play for Anelka or even made a move for Berbatov, anyone to back up Adebayor. Problem is, Arsene is overconfident in his player management and growth skills. Theo Walcott has been mooted as the great hope for Arsenal and even England for about five years but only managed to score his first Premier League goal last week, against Birmingham at that... there needs to be measures taken to have some established reliable players join the club.

And Adebayor needs to pull his head in... too selfish or stupid, I don't know... there was at least two clear goals that could have been scored had he passed to Bendtner in the game against Birmingham but he obviously is still feuding with him.

I'm worried and I think, unless something changes immediately, this is going to be the year we consider what could have been... six weeks ago we were on track for the treble... now, we could end up empty handed.

Speaking of rich,he has 70mill to spend on the trade period. I hope he uses it to good use and not go buy some youngster who won't play no part in our campaign. We need every position. Striker,CM,Defenders etc. We need depth.

Re: Arsenal

Good win at the San Siro with a couple of late goals booking our place in the quarter finals in the Champions League. We had the best of the play for most of the game, but butchered the ball way to often until the late goals. Hopefully this will instil some confidence back in the playing group and with a couple of injured players coming back soon we can resume winning in the chase for the league title!

Re: Arsenal

I echo Harry's sentiments... an absolutely fine win, against the odds, and the confidence would be sky high. To be honest, completely surprised and delighted.

The hunt is still on.

Re: Arsenal

Enjoyed my time at the pub this morning. *waits for questions about pub*

The first epl team to beat Milan at home in the UCL!!:thumbsu:

Fishing, much? We don't care, GR. You can buy cokes and OJ at pubs as well:rolleyes:

Re: Arsenal

Sheesh... You drew with Wigan.

I understand you played on possibly the worst pitch of all time but that's a huge result. Means United can go ahead a lot earlier than i expected :D - Gonna be a great race to the finish :thumbsu:

Re: Arsenal

Wigan are ordinary, as were we on their home dung heap! Two positives are RVP had some game time (not much impact) & even though we aren't playing our fluent best we are not losing matches! Big games to come yet!

On another note it was good to see Man U & Chelsea both bundled out if the F.A Cup! Gee Barnsley are a great side!:thumbsu:

Re: Arsenal

Gunners have been disappointing.:(
I think they have all but handed the championship to MU with their poor showing over the last few rounds.

True dat.

If Man U win their next fixture, we are over. They won't drop it. I don't know how many chances our team needs to hold on to the cup. They've been their own worst opponents.

Still, Champions League is a good go.

Re: Arsenal

Unfortunately for Arsenal, I'm getting the feeling that Manscum will end up winning the league. They always seem to do just enough to get a result and with Arsenal drawing the last three matches, it's going to make it tough.

At least Arsenal are still in the race, we've been out of it since about early December, which is becoming a tradition. Ah well, always next year, hey.

Don't give up just yet! True we are playing well below what we need, to win the title but Man U will not win every game and still have to play us! Let's hope we can gather ourselves together to beat them and you never know what can happen!

I don't mind from a Man U perspective.

It would be a great result if Barnsley go all the way. :thumbsu:
