Absolute joke.

Merv is a very smart person when it comes to pace bowling. Just because of his 'larrikin' image don't think he is just a fool. The other selectors are batters (Boon & Hilditch) and a spinner (Hohns) so a pace expert make sense.

Also had a lot more international experiance than the other people nominated.
