I've said this before but I've never at any stage seen proper evidence that Voss is any good at coaching.
The Lions looked good for brief patches over his time there, yet never looked like consistently playing a brand of football that suggested he was a great planner, tactician, communicator or motivator.
He'd obviously be very good as a specialist mentor with midfielders, but as an actual assistant or line coach? That's a pretty senior role these days with a need to plan, teach and implement structures.
He's got everywhere he has on his name from the playing days. Can't help thinking that with the war chest Colingwooe persist, they could have gained a far more successful and proven assistant coach.
Spot-on. It is a weird world. The guy got found at as not being able to coach over a long period of time. Since his departure his reputation has somehow become enhanced, you can even see that from this thread. He is a "good get" as an assistant. Why? It is just bizarre.
