Michael Voss - New assistant coach at Collingwood.

I've said this before but I've never at any stage seen proper evidence that Voss is any good at coaching.

The Lions looked good for brief patches over his time there, yet never looked like consistently playing a brand of football that suggested he was a great planner, tactician, communicator or motivator.

He'd obviously be very good as a specialist mentor with midfielders, but as an actual assistant or line coach? That's a pretty senior role these days with a need to plan, teach and implement structures.

He's got everywhere he has on his name from the playing days. Can't help thinking that with the war chest Colingwooe persist, they could have gained a far more successful and proven assistant coach.

To be fair, he was thrust into the identical situation as Hird was at your club. The difference was Essendon spent millions getting the best people around him while our board actively cut spending in the football department the season after they hired him.

Somewhat ironic that we will now be beefing up our spending for next season right after we sacked him. I don't think we have seen what he can do with the proper resources just yet.

Will also announce they have poached Steve Saunders from North to take Buttifant's job in the next week.
this would make me very very happy. Saunders is incredibly good at what he does. I doubt he will leave norf but, he has alot of say there.

Both these guys have obvious talent and are growing in their coaching abilities year by year. I just hope everyone settles without over-reaction next year when Collingwood doesn't suddenly take off and improve dramatically.
They are going through a transition, players leaving, culture changing, new coaching input, new ideas. It will take a bit of time, they may even go backwards a bit.
Hope the Collingwood faithfull stay with the program or next year there might be cries for Voss to usurp Bucks.

Something Voss should have done years earlier. The arrogance of the man destroyed his own team because he thought he was to good to be an assistant coach.

Yes, it so clearly destroyed the team.

How naive and utterly stupid are some people to base one man's coaching career all on one trading debacle.

Glad you're happy with him.
Personally, nothing he said in "special comments" last weekend convinced me that he's a good coach. Bland, obvious, didn't offer much.
Just kidding mate, i actually think he's a lemon who should have been sacked 2 years ago, i'm just after a rise out of TheBrownDog.

Glad you're happy with him.

Funny, I got the same feeling from some guy with the last name Scott. First name could of been Brad or something. He never seemed to finish his sentences

You just described Brad Scott perfectly.

Closed roof mate? I'm pretty sure a quick shower passed.
