Isn't it funny how certain states go in cycles.Ah yes, Western Australia in the late 80s, early 90s . Bastion of inclusive and progressive thought.
Look at Victoria now for instance, home of the supercilious tosser.

Yeah, states don't actually go in cycles of collective behaviour and the idea that WA during that time period would have been a place where racism wasn't a part of the football work, much less unheard of is laughable.Isn't it funny how certain states go in cycles.

This doesn’t sound like complete bullshit at all.I was so shocked because you never really seen it over here at the time, sadly a big part of eastern states footy culture back then.
Not the same as your experience of WA footy in that time period? This doesn’t sound like complete bullshit at all.
Not the same as my experience in Australia in that time period, full stop. Not the same as your experience of WA footy in that time period?
Nothing is driving the “woke!!!” brigade crazier than this
It’s actually hilarious though… there’s not a person regardless of religion etc who would take the slightest offence at anybody saying Merry Christmas. Yet some clubs can’t say it
The general consensus with Hawks fans is they grow up in the leafy eastern suburbs so would lean conservative. Alot live in the outer East and South East which is working class which is where the leaning left comes from ( if you have half a brain and know a bit about what left and right stand for).Ha! I can't believe how many Hawks fans I agree with on politics!
A post railing against "the woke agenda" littered with basic spelling errors, colour me shocked. If anyone can post the link I would appreciate it.
Probably i may be wrong the first journalist to take the afl on. In regards to this subject.
Afl hypocrisy in era of identity politics is turning fans against one another
Persistent more then that is required welcome to country ceremonies, Pride rounds, knee dropping, race baiting dosent unite Australians but creates a growing level of resentment turning us against each other
Footballs capture by the woke movement has always reeked of hypocrisy
Your thoughts guys? maybe I am old fashioned but sports organisations should just stick to the best interest of the game, and growing it
Exactly, culture wars are used to pit the working/middle classes against each other while we all get screwed by the robber barons stealing all the wealth/resources. It's unbelievable how many people fall for this garbage. It just staggers me that regular people get drawn into this culture war shit.
Like how little has to be going on in your head for you to be sucked into this shit while the people stoking it sit back and drown themselves in your money.
No it isn't.This doesn’t sound like complete bullshit at all.

two clubs have highlighted this
While not disagreeing with your broader point (it’s a truly toe-curling term) do you have any proof it was invented by white leftists?
Confirms what a lot of people think they way the game is going nowadays.
Well I'm sure everyone's experience of Australia in that time period was exactly the same as yours. Not the same as my experience in Australia in that time period, full stop.
Pretending like WA were somehow different is fun though I guess.
Opinions from an ignorant position are laughable.Yeah, states don't actually go in cycles of collective behaviour and the idea that WA during that time period would have been a place where racism wasn't a part of the football work, much less unheard of is laughable.
Okey mate. Keep railing against whatever outrage bait has been fed to you today.Opinions from an ignorant position are laughable.

How do you know this? Did you play in them all? Venture out to every ground around the country?Far less abuse in the WA leagues towards Aboriginals than around the rest of the country. This was especially the case around Perth, not so much in remote leagues.

I recently chatted with a Swans fan who claimed that homophobia was not an issue in football. It didn't exist anymore as they had not witnessed it at hundreds of games they had attended.Far less abuse in the WA leagues towards Aboriginals than around the rest of the country.
