If you were going to look at a mobile tall forward, Lachie Burrows from Sturt would be worth a think.

195cm, 95 kg, good leap, long kick and mobile. Was an SA U18 rep in 2019. Can play KP and ruck.

Hagan will go well.

Might get McEntees spot if McEntee drops off?

There's simply not going to be an instant fix at any key position in this draft available to us and a 18 year old who's done most everything right since landing here isn't a bad outcome.

Could play 200 games.

In a state league, sure

What about Will Francou? He was impressive in the pre-season and early SANFL games. Made state under 20's side and did well from what I read about him. Like his Dad he appears to be a little late developing and he had an injury interrupted season in his draft year. He's quick enough, has good lateral movement, good vision and is a smart user of the ball. He impressed me more than Hagen did.

Kobe Ryan only 184cm tall. Some here talking him up.

Does he have any x-factor qualities that could translate to AFL?
Is he blindingly quick?
Great vertical leap?
Laser like kick over long distances?
Bull of a tackling machine?
Exquisite peripheral vision?
Outstanding two-way runner?
Versatile in several positions?
Handball skills like Greg Williams?

As much as we need key position back up, where would Sam Skinner Mark II play. We already have Clurey, K.Marshall, Pasini and McCallum
Only Clurey and Pasini are chances to play, and both are arguably too short these days to take on the monster forward. They are more for a second forward etc. We need a 198+ player if available.

How are we going to defend Curnow and McKay if they get their kicking sorted? (both delivery and set shot kicking)

Cameron/Hawkins, Daniher/Hipwood etc..

Too many dual talls that can kill us due to our lack of height.

Agree that there is no point grabbing another tall if they're under 195.

Two things with that article...

One, they link Port Adelaide to Adelaide by hyperlinking only the word Adelaide.

Two, they link us with every player not predicted to go in the first few picks.

It does not build my trust in their attention to detail.

Well yeah, it's Zero Hanger, so that's what ya get. Still, we must encourage citizen journalism, hey.

Here is Casalini's 6 goal haul against Norwood. A few soft efforts there by Norwood defenders.

Maybe he was more impressive against Port Adelaide.

He didn't keep that rolling. Is behind a few others.

I think Will Francou had to return to North after having the maximum three games with us. I hoped he would be playing under father son rules but he played with us on some SANFL 3 game trial system like Jase Burgoyne did a couple of years ago. Check the North Adelaide site and he's in their team list now. The games he played with us are credited to him on their listing.

the Inner Sanctum released their mid-season phantom draft.

Quinton Narkle

10. Western Bulldogs

Caleb Poulter

11. Port Adelaide

Jack Buller

Claremont, WAFL

KEY FWD, 22, 199cm, 99kg

A strong marking target out of Western Australia, Buller has drawn comparisons to Port Adelaide’s Charlie Dixon, with the 22 year old recording a career best outing against South Fremantle with 14 marks and four goals. The Claremont forward’s frame has attracted interest from a number of clubs, while he has been deployed in the ruck at times this season. Buller could go as high as number one in the Mid-Season Draft, however it could be a long night for the forward, as the right team would have to be on the clock to select him. The big man might be too good to pass up on for the Power after losing Mitch Georgiades for the remainder of 2023.

In the mix: The Power’s pick is strongly reliant on what Fremantle do, with the Power set to choose between Buller and Robert Hansen Jnr. North Adelaide forward Noah Casalini would be tempting if he is still available, while Mutaz El Nour could be considered down back. Local products Adam D’Aloia (Woodville West Torrens) and Kobe Ryan (West Adelaide) were both highly rated youngsters in last year’s draft class and deserve a shot on an AFL list, with the former being a member of the AFL Academy last year.

12. Hawthorn

Will Elliot

13. Richmond

Luke Teal

14. Greater Western Sydney

Marty Hore

15. Sydney

Noah Casalini

Others to watch:

A host of ex-AFL listed players including state league standouts Brayden Crossley (Southport), Dylan Clarke (Port Melbourne), Martin Frederick (Sturt), Ryley Stoddart (Frankston) and Trent Mynott (Frankston) are others to keep an eye on.

2022 AFL Academy trio Jed Hagan (Port Adelaide), Mitch Szybkowski (Frankston) and Sam Gilbey (Claremont) are all pushing for an AFL birth after missing out on selection last year, while Ziggy Toledo-Glassman (Dandenong Stingrays) and Ethan Phillips (Port Melbourne) remain in the mix for an AFL contract.
