Logan Evans has impressed Tim Ginever and he's a good judge. Logan Evans was unlucky to miss last years drafts, especially given his senior form for Norwood but he has looked on par with the players we drafted last year in my opinion. Athletic and pretty skilled, He impressed me when I watched the boys in pre-season. I hope he surprises a few of us and makes a success of his chance.

I suppose its good for the sanfl rookie program. Its strange we didn't take Hagen last year. Haven't seen him play so hopefully it works out. Beecken seemed to be more highly rated, but the club would know if he has afl traits.

Pick someone who isn't going to feature at AFL level, and is already playing in our SANFL team so doesn't strengthen the reserves at all.

Yup sounds about right.
I have said from the start that we should have made it public knowledge that we would pick our MSD pick and one of our rookies from the Magpies every single season.

It may have been a loss in the first year but the quality of players willing to play for $400 a game in the Magpies would have increased significantly over time.

No doubt the young man has benefited greatly from playing under a serial winner and master coach like Hamish Hartlett at the Magpies.

ELITE PATHWAYS

I have nothing against Logan Evans, but why pick yet another half back flanker and particularly one who is already available to us when it's obvious the Maggies are in dire need of a midfielder to help them be more competitive.

Unfortunately under this current regime if shooting yourself in the foot was a gold medal event there wouldn't be a trophy cabinet at Alberton big enough to display them!

Geordie Payne” goes #1 in the same week Newcastle miss out on Europe despite finishing above Man United for the first time since 1977, because the Red Devils upset City in the FA Cup final.
