Surprised so many people wanted 2 All-SFA teams.

Hi Baz. On a scale of 1-10, how much did you enjoy my responses?
It's been a while since I read them. The only one I can distinctly link to a poster was about NaturalDisaster smelling his own farts. Fairly safe to say you were in the group that favoured including saving the interchange bench for interchange players I guess.

I didn't respond to the survey but everybody in committee always knew I wanted 3 teams, playing, posting & combo.

I'd love to say I enjoyed this presentation but I must admit I didn't really understand a lot of the results. Looked good, though.

I'd summarise it by saying the majority of people want to maintain the status quo but stop looking at media when looking at someone's posting. Half the league are open to two separate All-SFA teams to address stats v posting.

While I think the actual and official All-SFA should maintain its traditions by being a combo of both, I often wondered if a Players Association, separate to the committee and the Mobbs Medal celebrations, should re-absorb the beez and present its own posting side. I'm less enthused by a sim side because it's for the most part rewarding little to no effort and is based on the whim of a program and a captains own whim to keep a player in consistent position whether they earn it or not. It's also something that can be whipped up in a few minutes by an admin looking at stat tables and nothing really else.

I threw that question in because I was legitimately torn when we discussed what the All-SFA was for last season and wanted to see what the wider Sweet FA thought about it. If we did ever go down the multiple team route I imagine the stats-only side would still have a posting quota simply so we're recognising people who are actually contributing to the board. But, yes, it would be an easy task because there are no subjective elements outside of assessing utility players.

Thanks, it makes good sense now!

As I said above, I tried to let the results speak for themselves but that was the gist I got from the compiled responses.

That's why I like it. Great, now I can't see half your post. Stupid phone. But something that you said made me say "that's why I like it".

I certainly like the question and the debate behind it... and I'm a real purist so I like the traditions. Despite that, I'm all for the community having their own versions of these awards and think serial_thrilla's team (I hope it's his) of the last couple of seasons has been really representing it well.

fu** all that. Random name generator All-SFA team ftw.
Let's outsource, Leonard Maltin to review the posts, and Stan the Studious Statistician to grade the scoresheets.
