Midfield structure - your theories

I must say, I am also considering the 3 rookies starting in the midfield.

I currently have:

ABC
ABC
Premium
Mid priced
Rookie
Rookie

But I am seriously considering the following:

ABC
Premium
Mid priced
Rookie
Rookie
Rookie

Is there something I am missing here that says that this is a bad strategy to go with? Sure, it is a huge risk but I really think it is one that would be worth taking. There are a fair few mid rookies who will play a fair bit, if not every week, so it is not as if I would be copping many 0s early on.

The first structure is a lot safer and a lot more expensive but as I said, I am seriously considering switching to the 2nd structure as it will free up a hell of a lot of cash which I can then use on other positions around the ground.

Thoughts?

Thing is, midfielders are less likely to dip in form than forwards are.

Im assuming with this structure you will load up the forwards by picking the Franklins/Pavs/Riewoldts. I got Franklin and Roo for 300k last year . You wont get ABC or Kornes etc for that price no chance in hell. Hence you will need really solid cash cows in order to upgrade your team.

I have got Ablett, Bartel, Swan, Gibbs, Hasleby and Beams with two rookies on the bench

thoughts on my midfield please

your midfield is very good (subject to seeing your rookies). I'm somewhat concerned about the rest of your team though. You've spent a LOT of money on Ablett, Bartel, Swan and Gibbs

I have robinson and anthony on the pine

My rest of my team looks pretty evenly spread only position that looks like a big gamble is having Bellchambers as my second ruck with cox first and jacobs and spencer on the bench. I think bellchambers will do for the first few rounds but will be my first upgrade during the season.

Agreed... I would downgrade 1 of ABS and pickup a midfielder listed as a forward (i.e. Richo ;))

I am participating in the DT competition for the first time and I am not messing around.

Miidfield: G. Ablett, J. Selwood, K.Cornes, S.Burgoyne, J.Carr, D.Pearce.

We fly high, no lie, you know this BALLIN!

I see alot of value in that 350k-400k price range this year.

Agreed. the 350-400k mark has many make or break players this year and some elite players who dropped in price a little. On the other hand, not sure if it's worth stacking mids with all the excellent rookies flying around.
