I kind of wanted this. Scrape into finals, find a win and finish top 6. Lower draft pick, tougher fixture next year.

But now the fear is real. GWS are ripe for picking off and the Tigers coming off a bye at the MCG could implode. Both unlikely but the thought of it already is leading to nervy times ahead.

Hate GWS bit hope they rub Eagles face in it. The extra breaks have rejuvenated Priddis, Petrie and the team.

For one week only, I'm a massive fan of Greene. For one week only, he is my hero!

Really? I thought it was a terrible game of football with horrendous skills that for the most part had nothing to do with pressure. It was like watching a Freo game.

It was a terrible game highlighted by errors rather than brilliance. The closeness made it epic, not the skill level.

The only part I disagree with is it it not being serious. I've had to defriend all Eagles supporter mates on facey. They are pieces of sh*t when it comes to football. I hope they lose every game of football they play in. Shuey is scum, can't stand him.
I love you man

Hey our skills aren't that bad. Because last night's game really was terrible, but exciting.

And in real time I thought the Shuey high was there, so I don't have too much of an issue with them paying it. I didn't see the shrug till they replayed it slow. But I'd love for the AFL to come out actually say "yes it should've been a play on, but in real time our umpires thought it was there, and we're ok with them making this mistake"

When Shuey gets taken high you don't need to even see it. He clearly creates the contact. Just like Darling throwing his head back and flapping his arms. Just like Priddis and a few others falling forwards on their stomach.

Serial appealers as well.

My dream is for Sandilands to flaps his arms when in a contest. Would receive 10 frees a game as contact and chopping his arms are always there. Sadly, he's just to honest a bloke.

Priddis had 2-3 bad games in the middle of the season and the fickle WCE supporters were calling for his head. A guy who polled 17 votes last year and nearly won the brownlow back to back. One of the few in WCE who puts their head over the ball. Makes me laugh they forced him into retirement.

Priddis has a very good work ethic, gave 100+ minutes all night.

The umpires should be given the right to play off the players reputation

Noone would care if Shuey Selwood Mathieson etc missed out on a few legit ones because of their past actions

It would stop a fair bit of the staging and gamesmanship that goes on if you start to lose the legit ones

Shaw is a very team orientated player, Mumford is a very fair player and uses his strength all at the right time, Patton is an underrated gun, Leon Cameron is a canny coach ... etc.

Ouch, my cheek is hurting from my tongue pushing against it !!!!.

I would disagree with you on this one.
They are already doing this and playing it badly.

- Walters almost getting his head taken off and no free awarded due to reputation.
- Crowley awarded a free kick against when Stevie J pushed him into the interchange zone?!!! Stevie J is a good guy who deserve the benefit of the doubt?
- Ballantyne. Almost never get a free. Had to admit he kind of deserved it from his actions early in his career. Mostly cleaned up his act but still suffering from it.

At the meantime, Selwood and Shuey ducked all they wanted and "draw a free kick".

Umpires should award frees based on the actions. Judge players on equal footing, not their reputation.
I'm ok if they get it wrong some of the time.

Not to mention Pinchgate where a player was besmirched/ found guilty/and sanctioned without anything which qualified as evidence.

Whately on Offsiders is calling it "The Shuey Shrug":his signature move!
He's said 'there are four of five players in the league who draw these frees but Shuey is way and above the best of them.'
Cheating little pricks like him will see us with a video review system like NRL's Bunker.
Arguably a greater shitfight.

They do. Walters doesn't get many frees anymore because he's a known milker. And rightly so.

Most West Coast fans aren't doing this right. They need to own it. Clearly it should not have been a free kick, the rules are pretty clear that if the player caused the high contact the call is play on. So instead of denying it, they should admit it was a bad call and then talk about how it was an evener for the awful deliberate decision late in the last quarter or something like that.

Rolly Polly Rioli + Lamb, supposed to be very tasty.

Easy to take a ping at an opposition team, BUT the stocks at East Perth are threadbare.
The only way the Lamb drafting blunder could get any better is if after they delist him he goes somewhere else to become a good player.

Agree. Eagles are on the weaker side of the draw by far.

I'd prefer them to make the GF and get smashed on the big stage ala 2015.

Definitely should not have been paid a free kick. What Shuey did was NOT cheating, he is entitled to try and evade/break the tackle, but it should have been called play on. The umpire who called it (I think it was a non-controlling ump not the closest to the action) made a mistake. The rule was specifically changed and "lifting the arm" was one of those things specifically listed. This was a textbook "lifting the arm" scenario.

Just a shame that such a mistake was made in the last minute of overtime in an elimination final.

West Coast scrape through. Port, despite finishing 5th somehow don't have a good record against any of the other top 8 teams this year (they beat Sydney early on when Sydney were shit, and they beat WCE, apart from that lost to all the rest), so maybe they were not actually that good.

I don't think GWS are as good as they were last year, so maybe next week should be regarded as a 50/50 proposition. However I think the Tigers have shaken the monkey off their backs and will be unstoppable at the MCG the following week.

EDIT: I also thing that the umpires need to work on a system where only the controlling umpire calls on the play and the non-controlling umps don't call anything in play, they only watch for off-the-ball incidents and niggle between players.

I would agree if he didn't drop his knees too.
