This 'Doogs' argument is pissing me off big time, so much so that some stats need to be exposed so that his VALUE to the Hawks win last season can be seen!

First of all he missed seven (7) games last season and finished with 70 goals from the other 15 games (4.66 ave) he played.
He played his first game against the Rams in Rd 5 kicking 5 goals. He did not play in Rd 7 and missed Rds 14 & 15 with a hand injury.

As for kicking goals against two terrible teams, (Woor-Mort & WLB), he only played against them once each for 12 goals combined. (leaving his aver @ 4.46 for all others)

As for being the primary goal-kicker, well he did have Hitchcock playing alongside him for some games, so it was at least two-pronged, plus when the likes of Andy Tucker, Tim McDougall, Tony Campbell and later on Chris Milne are all kicking bags, plus their mid-fielders who all kick plenty, it was not as if the game plan revolved around him and he couldn't help but kick goals. Far from it. They shared that duty which goes with most good TEAMS.

Tatyoon did not dominate like the previous two seasons, losing 3 games and having three wins under ten points. In fact his effort of 5 goals from nine in the wet against Caramut in Rd 9 in a four point win was a major reason they stayed in contention for the double chance when INJURY was hitting them hardest. The next round they had some 22 players unavailable for both teams, so it was not plain sailing all year for the Hawks.

He kicked 16 goals during the finals, including 8 Prelim goals and 3 in the GF.

In summary 'Doogs' is not your stereo-typed player (agile, fit etc), not a quick leading forward and is no STAR (no one said that), but his efforts were pivotal in the Tatyoon premeirship win.

He is a strong mark, one out and his goal converting is very good.

What would you blokes who are doubting him be saying if he played those seven games he missed. Two against W-M & WLB, plus five others probably sees the big 'doogs' finish with over 100 goals in a Premiership season. Not too bad an out-put and no doubt would be loved by nine other clubs around the league.

Two final pieces, the bit about the standard dropping is pretty well-known around country footy, so if that helps 'doogs', you are in fact slagging off at every player running around. Get off your horse and respect players for what they do, no matter where they do it, and if it is with their home club, good on 'em........at least he is not running around other clubs looking for $$$$$ on the back of it!!!

Secondly barking from afar without knowing all the facts can make you look silly!

If someone wants to voice an opinion about someones playing ability then so be it- that is what these forums are for. You were slaggin off Zedi for doing that- yet you did exactly the same about him. So get of your high horse and stop taking the moral high ground like you are some expert.

I think Brad White is a dud and that your club is nuts paying him to play for you, but you think he's alright. These forums are discussion boards and if everyone got on here agreeing with each other then they wouldn't be very interesting nw would they.

Put your thoughts, opinions, predictions and views across like everybody else does on here, but don't get on and post blogs pumping up your own tyres about how many premierships you played in, how much you love the league and the fact you "work" for the local paper.

Writing crap when your involved with a club, league or local paper can also make you look silly???

taty will bounce back i think they will need to blow off some cobwebs as for derri, they would want win this week otherwise they are kidding themselves if they think they can have any chance of a top 4 spot this year. Predictions on carramut this year?? by all accounts played some good football last week

You don't have to be in an official role to be involved in your club. If you go to watch training you are involved, if you have sons that play with the club you are involved, if you have played with the club in the past you are involved and if you live in the town then there's a fair chance your involved in some capacity??

If you don't agree with the way Glen-Dunkeld handled their recruiting then say so. If you think they are paying players that are not worth a cracker then say so, but don't get on here saying things for the sake of keeping everyone happy.

If Zedi has an opinion about a specific player then don't shout him down for expressing it. You did the same to me when I was commenting on Brad White's ability (or lack of it??) as a player. Just cos I think that, doesn't mean i'm right, but it's my opinion??

I read the scores in the paper for any information I need and I'm guessing you base your reports on the results also (apart from the one match you watch live). If you comment about someone playing well but don't actually see them live then what you are writing is crap becuse you don't actually know??

Ok who are gonna be the winners this round?
Can Taty bounce back? Can the Dees get one on the board?
Are Wicky lake or woorndoo going to be humiliated?
What do ppl think after round 1 and whats gonna happen round 2?

Penshurst will be too good for Hawksdale and get up by 8 goals.
Caramut will have an easy win against hawksdale by 21 goals.
Lissmore should thrash Bolac by 19 goals.
Moyston to get over Dunkeld in a thriller by 1 point.
Taty to bounce back against rovers by 14 points.

Having been the subject of some "thoughts, opinions and views" (from Bloods and others) on this site previously Bomber, and having read some of your sustained personal attack on Brad White (which despite your comments here has queried more than his playing ability), I think people on this site would have far more credibility if they put their name to their comments....

At the end of the day you guys are discussing a minor country football league. Does the commentary on player's efforts need to get quite so personal ?

i've read the demons were ran off there feet against caramut, total bull.
the demons were simply out played, out coached.
They looked a little undermaned with a few key players out.
Lis/Der still do not have a competetive ruckman, with todd lamont forced to do majority of the ruckwork, leaving the small forward to do most of the presenting.
I caught a glimpse of there recruits and they looked okay.
Lets hope things lift for the dees, just so the league is a bit more contested.

dont lismore play bolac? if they lose that they are screwed... its not going to be as easy to make the 5 this year and no1 can afford to drop any games against bolac and worndoo... that is unless they have improved a lot more than they are getting credit for... rovers taty game should be a beauty this week as should the pumas rams game... taty need a win as they have moyston the week after and would hate to be facing 0-3... rovers will make them earn it and may even be favourites... any thoughts?
think the rams may be 2 quick for the pumas, but should be very close... penshurst to keep winning, and caramut to beat an improving worndoo... should be some great games...

any thoughts?

I agree Dragon they need a ruckman. I think they have a few to come back into the side after a wedding took place during round 1. I am pretty sure they will be thereabouts again.

At the end of the day I have had my views, but from day one everyone has known who I am, and especially now as I advertise the fact.

Never have been a person to hide behind a mask and never will.....if something annoys me, I will vent my opinion, but when it comes to players, I am pretty sure my articles, opinions and views are levelled and not personal attacks towards anyone generally.

If I disagree with what someone or a club is doing, I will say so, but always with my signature attached.

Wickliffe/Lake Bolac are struggling so not a good indication for Demons.

Yes there were some Junk Time goals and a few soft ones, i wouldn't be getting too excited about the dud! No second efforts all day, very lazy forward. From what i watched at the game.

Ur a real d**k head Zedi, ur just taking the piss out of everyone, were u even at the game? Taty played alot better with Doogs in the side, he lead really well, kicked 7 and set up a couple of goals with his pressure and second efforts. U either dont know much about football or have a chip on ur shoulder 4 some reason with Doogs. I cant work out y u would go and watch taty and Doogs if u think he cant play. U really r getting stale so how about getting of this site, or even better give Doogs a call and tell him what u think face 2 face instead of hidding behind ur computer!
