Minor things that annoy you about the game

Now you're havin a larf

I’m talking about commentators barely bothering to interrupt their previous conversation. A player can mark, line up and put boot to ball and we’re still hearing about somebody’s hitout stats or an umpiring decision from five minutes ago. A shot at goal is almost always a consequential moment - would be good if our crack commentary teams could bring themselves to give it its due.

This line in the Swans' team song just bugs me: "Whether the odds be great or small" sounds very awkward with that drawn-out "grea-eat". Can't they just add another "be" in there instead? (so "whether the odds be great or be small", which would flow a lot better.)

The camera work on most games is terrible...
They switch to zoom in and zoom out on the contest far too often and they miss 60% of what happens just stay zoomed out so we can see the play FFS!!!
its been doing my head in for a while nobody seems to mind!
Is it just me? Am I wrong?
It's not just you.

Camera work at grounds that aren't the MCG is not good. (Or maybe we're just conditioned to the MCG style viewing and anything different to that is annoying).

There were lot of passages in the Syd/North game where the camera work just missed all the stuff just outside the contest.

No doubt the MCG has the best view.. But the zooming kills me and the camera change timing is always poor and it has more to do with broadcasting than camera work..
I've had a problem with this for a while but one that has really got to me this week is the Tom Boyds grand final goal.. I realise it's one game 3 seasons ago but it was The Game and The Moment and not a once off just a good example
I mean just let us watch the field like we are there, one of the best things about our sport is that it's so open

The fact we never play 2.10 games anymore other then the grand final. 3pm games annoy the **** out of me as there is no post game analysis

Similarly do you remember when friday night footy was always on delay because ch 7 wanted to screen better homes and gardens? Wicky Olarenshaw said people are creatures of habit and go to dinner friday nights, hence the telecast needed to be at 8.30.

Now, ch 7 telecast live.

I’m getting sick of players claiming marks when the ball has been touched and then complaining they can’t here the umpire’s call ‘tocuhed, play-on’.

What is it this part of the game its acceptable to ‘not play to the whistle’???

Are the GC Suns considered a minor thing?
Did you have money on them? :p
I think I'm the only person who actually likes their song :$
That's about the only thing I like about them though

I actually thought it was "be great or be small".

I'm pretty sure it is for the Port Adelaide Magpies (who use the same tune), anyway.

Honestly, I sing it that way. I reckon lots do too. (Note, the "right" way is per the Notre Dame original).
