I always laugh when people say the player dropped the ball give the opponent a free. There is no dropping the ball free. It’s either holding the man or holding the ball.

I think that’s another thing to be annoyed about.
It used to be ok as it was generally payed holding the ball, then they stopped paying it at all for a couple of years and now they pay it out of the blue. All while the rules as written haven’t really changed.
They should just bring in “dropping the ball” but for some reason the rule committee likes the rugby scrum it encourages

They just pull the old “dislodged in the tackle” or “made an attempt”.
I would love for incorrect disposal to be paid stamp out those throws.
Metres gained being an important stat.
A tough contested possession where a player handpasses out of congestion counts as **** all compared to a long kick down the line to a big pack of players.
Players that take kickouts are also unfairly boosted when it comes to this statistic. Also, don't get me started on kick outs being counted towards possession totals.

Metres gained by someone bombing it out of defensive 50m from a kick-in isn't a very helpful stat but it does mean something for a midfielder who wins the ball and gets it forward (you can't differentiate it though). I think it's a key part of why Bontempelli and Petracca are rated so highly.
People in the crowd (remember when we used to have crowds at games?) who, if the ball was stuck at half back would yell "Just kick it!!!", regardless of the opposition ruckman positioned a kick away, down the line, waiting for it.

The absolute imbeciles at Fox Sports putting the scores of the other game at the bottom of the screen when the games overlap. The supposed beauty of Kayo is you can start games whenever you feel like it, but am I going to do that when I already know the score no? Seriously annoying and unnecessary. And if I wanted to know the score I could look it up on my phone, laptop or even use the remote to change it over.
That BS camera shot coming into the stands from the corridor and opening up to the crowd and ground. When you are actually there it's pretty good. On television, to me, it just fails harder than Essendon's final campaigns.

the players running 30 metres on a kick out, seriously these blokes can kick it 50-60 mts anyway so it would go past the centre circle
I actually like it. Seems to open the game up a bit. There's nothing more annoying to me than seeing every player up one end of the ground for long periods of time.
