Minor things that annoy you about the game

whats amateurish about it? are that clubs players not getting the point there are 2 minutes left if a big '2' is held up?
But isn't the whole point to get some type of advantage, or is it just for the benefit of both teams(which is ridiculous)?

so your players know how much times is left. they can play accordingly. If they are in front they now to try and hold onto the ball for 2 mins and not 1 minute or 5 minutes. if they are behind they know they have 2 mins to get a goal, not 1 or 4 or 5 mins etc.

Not sure whats so hard to understand. They dont care if the other team knows how long to go.

Time for the monthly "the ruck nomination rule" post.
Every game I watch, as a fan or a neutral, it manages to annoy me.

Ruck contests themselves have become a bit of a joke. The nomination rule, the 1m rule, the way umpires pick free kicks out at random, it’s all a bit ridiculous. Just throw the ball in the air, have two people compete for it and as long as they’re not hitting each other in the head or slinging each other out of the way, play on.

If a mark or free kick is awarded and the player goes back 10 metres and they kick it 5 metres over the mark it is deemed to have travelled the correct distance. Holds/slows up the game. That annoys me. Should be 15 metres past the player on the mark or else 'play on'.

Clubs and media outlets unable to count in B&F counts (and possibly Brownlows).

Just tonight, Hawthorn posted their "top 10" B&F - had Worpel & Jiath =9th, and then went on to have Breust as 10th in the "top 10", making 11 players. No. Not how it works. If there's 10 players ahead of you, you have not finished 10th.

The Crows did the same - after having 3 players tie for 4th (fair), they went on to claim that Kelly & O'Brien finished equal 5th. No. They were 7th (they did amend this in their count).

Obviously minor but it's just dumb.

Commentators/panelists using throwaway lines like "just get rid of the ruck nomination rule", without acknowledging the problem that existed within the game that led to why the damn thing was actually introduced in the first place.
The problem being that teams were using third man up to clear congestion and play faster, higher scoring football?

No, that the umps were repeatedly paying ridiculous frees for "blocking" of players who feigned they were going to take the ruck contest.

The ruck nomination rule was to clarify which two blokes were legitimately eligible for such a free if they were prevented from attending the contest.

Jobe Watson, you absolute campaigner. Been given the kids gloves treatment from 2013 to today. The flowery 'supplements saga' language, how we should feel so sorry for the players. The players took part in doping and if he was a better (or even smarter) captain, he could have stopped it. He's just one step behind Hird in terms of culpability. And we're supposed to feel sorry for him?

This eight and a half year foot rub he's been getting from the media has convinced him that he's been harshly done by and is the rightful 2012 Brownlow Medallist. OK so this is perhaps a bit more than a minor irritation; Trent Cotchin checking in with Watson before receiving his rightful Brownlow was a minor irritation.

Jobe and Tim, again, you absolute campaigners, STFU. You're lucky that it suited the AFL and its media's ends to go easy on you. You make me sick. Excuse my French.

The stupid "touched" rule.
Any ball that goes through for a goal should be 6 points.
But the pathetic time wasting when a finger tip is deemed to have touched a ball, and we have to look for a microscopic deflection....

What was the problem?
