On the back of a round 22 attendance of 53,818 in the RAC Derby, Fremantle achieved the fourth-best average attendance in the league of 40,460 per game.

Would be interesting to see a ranking of attendance as a percentage of capacity.

For example the Dockers averaged 40,460 of a possible 60,000 so we ran at 67.4% (not taking into account the reduced capacity covid games cos I'm lazy)

I'd imagine Geelong with the redevelopment would probably top the list

Agreed!

40k in a 60k looks better than 50k in a 100k too.

So many MCG games, despite getting bigger crowds than we get, look trash. A percentage based attendance ladder is much fairer/accurate way to measure it as capacity is capacity at any ground, no matter where you are. None of this "wE hAvE 100k mEmbErs" BS from the bigger Vic clubs when they only get ~30K rock up at Marvel and only get more than 40/50K when they're up against one of their fellow Vic clubs that like to spout that same nonsense

Just came across this gif on Twitter (hi Chris Read if you’re here!).

Has there been a more iconic Freo supporter in 2022? I think not. Bloody love this!

The f*cking tap back by Freddy froths me every time.

They came to our games instead. Let's not pretend.
Amount of Eagles mates on social media that tagged themselves at Freo games with this pitter patter nonsense 'don't usually wear Freo gear', while sporting a new fresh Freo jumper, decked out in scarves, even with a #flagmantle hashtag for a bit of extra mayo... was mind boggling. Honestly people have a bit of self-respect and don't glory hunt far out.

Disclaimer* I openly tell people I don't support an EPL team because it seems to change season to season depending on play style, their underdog status, and who is winning. So maybe I can understand where they're coming from but still.

I don't mind people coming to Freo games supporting Freo wearing Freo merch and colours.

It's when they come to Freo games wearing their West Coast polo and West Coast isn't featuring in the game that I think it's a problem.

By all means, wear whatever you want wherever you want - but if you're that worried someone might think you've switched sides because you're at the other teams game perhaps have a talk with yourself about why you care so much about other people's opinions.

When I go to WC games I don't wear Eagle or Freo colours - I wear purple undies.

Fair comment - although could easily switch lenses and look at it that 'the power of the purple was too strong and it even sucked me in, despite being an Eagles supporter.' Which in a sense is actually quite the compliment in a weird way.

But deadset, I know surface level detail about West Coast - if they were going well that would be great for them, and good on them for getting to enjoy that when they do, but I wouldn't start fronting up to their games if they were winning. In short - I just don't really care about them lol, whether they win or lose. So it's so strange that it doesn't seem they share that level of apathy towards Freo as well.

Would love it if both teams could genuinely be good at the same time - would be great for game.

Personally - I would rather fcuk myself with scissors than attend an Eagles game.

Went to an Eagles game a couple of seasons ago as my mum got sponsor tickets through work. They lost by less than a goal. It was glorious and an experience I highly recommend every Freo fan enjoy at one time or another.
