I think he will go to Fremantle for less than what Brisbane want but I strongly doubt he will end up at Melbourne.

McIness and Kersten anyone? Surely the club is lining up other possibilities. Anyone else get the e-mail from the club HERALDING the trade for pick 20? Softening up people that were expecting Clark I Reckon!!! In Bond We Trust!

I would have thought Fremantle getting Pick 20 today would be part of their maneuvering for the Clark trade. 16 + 20 in a not-so-strong draft for a former #9 draft pick who has his best years ahead and 34 (or whatever it is). Admittedly, he would be better suited to somewhere with a need for a ruckman (as he plays best there IMO) but to my eye it seems reasonable.

Clark isnt homesick, does anyone actually believe that sick grandma line?

Next thing he will be saying the dog ate his homework.

Its clear hes just had enough of Brisbane and its probably because of Voss.

I would do 16 and 20 for Clark and Bower. It would mean that Brisbane has to satisfy Carlton with a trade for Bower eg 32 for Bower and Carlton's 3rd rounder.

or

16+20 for Clark and a swap of 2nd rounders+late picks Brisbane won't use.

I think Freo want to have a crack in the first round though so it will most likely be 16+38 for Brisbanes 3+4 rounder as a final offer.

as a melbourne fan i would love to get a guy like m.clark but he dosent want to come to us so forget it, aint gonna happen
you guys saying he aint worth this or that are fools i have seen brisbane alot and he is currently a B+ who will develop into an A grade player
(currently worth the picks yes but the monster money he dosent deserve just yet imo)

money dosent matter much to this guy or he would of simply taken the cash from GWS before melbourne even entered the picture

IMO r.lyon will get his way and give up what it takes to get m.clark
- lyon wants clark badly and he obviously agreed to coach fremantle as long as he gets to call the shots on trading - we know with stkilda's poor recruiting in the draft lyon will have little to do with that though

(pavlich will be FF and clark will be full time CHF and ruck a little bit when sandilands is on the bench) if sandilands is injured 1 of z.clark or j.griffen will ruck the majority of the game and m.clark will ruck when 1 of those guys is on the bench

I hardly think it's 'obvious' - I think Lyon came to coach us because there's unrealised potential in our list, and he is being paid the big bucks for a fresh start.

How many times will he have to say that he leaves the cobbling to the cobblers?

What are freo's chances of doing a Collingwood and just picking him up in the national draft with pick 20?

You don't think GWS would use one of their picks on him? Would be the worst decision to make, leaves Brisbane with nothing while giving GWS another leg up. Pray to god this doesn't happen

I enjoy the fact that Melbourne is being proactive, but he's Fremantle bound. I can't help but feel that Brisbane are the ones who are going to have to compromise in this situation

I'd agree, but they left it pretty late to make a pitch.. Scully 's been gone for for a month now, so they knew they had $$ to splash.
Cuddles taken that long to put together the Powerpoint for their Mitch Pitch?

Well, we'd get a comp pick if GWS got him...the higher he price tag he puts on himself, the higher the compo we'd get...

...better than anything Freo have offered to date by the sounds of it

Cuddles is working in the marketing department

Whats Freo actually offered so far do we know ?

You wouldn't think they would play around too much with this one. He's a good player.

Not now - that's over yesterday for this year. The only way GWS could get him is via trade or the draft. They'd probably take him with one of their hiundreds of picks.

Colin Young said on trade week radio that pick 16 was on the table. I can see a player being thrown in to sweeten it, but i wouldn't think we'd offer 20 as well.

The Clark chess game continues ... Lions reject Freo's offer of picks 16 AND 20. Clark could slip to Dees in draft at No.12
