Over a few beers yesterday afternoon there was a heated discussion about the two above players, simply over who would kick more goals.

The Roo, affectionally named the Roo as he is the Guru on all things living, women, football etc (Well he thinks he is), thinks big Tyrone will be Richmonds focal point and kick many more goals than Mitch Clark.

The rest of us think The Roo is a peanut.

Please provide us with your thoughts!

Remember, it takes a brave man to disagree with the Roo!

I love Vickery, but dont see him kicking more than Clark. Will be very close and possible. In future he definitely has a high ceiling.

Clark will be involved in many more score involvements imo, his value to MFC is as a focal point, players such as Howe, Green, Watts and Jurrah will benefit more than goals actually scored by Clark.

I will say Clark but see there being less than 3-5 goals in it.

Also add poll and move it to the polls board

love the big vick but it SHOULD be clark. i say that because he will be melbournes main forward target, and really their only physically imposing one (green watts and jurrah are all quite slight). vickery will be second behind jack as our main target, and will have miller and maybe derrickx (untried but at least a big body) as other physically imposing players to accompany him.

if vickery beats clark in this respect it means either jack has gone down with an injury early, richmond are on their way to finals with 2 high scoring power forwards, or melbourne are in trouble.

Saw Clark clunk a couple of big marks at Casey on Friday on the intra club match. If he plays all year in the forward 50 he should kick more. Expect Riewoldt to kick a lot so will take away from Vickery. To be honest though Clark himself may only kick 40-50 as we have quiet a few others down there. He also crashed a few packs in the intra club match so that is a big part of his role.

So last year Clark kicked 27 goals from 17 games at 1.6 a game and Vickery kicked 36 from 22 games at 1.7 a game. Brisbane didnt really have browny at full strength last year so clark was moreso their main foward. Vickery on the other hand was 2nd fiddle to Riewoldt who kicked 62 goals.

Final say, Vickery will win, Clark is extremely overated as a Full Foward.

Vickery. Clark has kicked over 10 once in 6 seasons.

Carlisle will surprise from my mob. Massive talk coming out of Windy Hill. I hope they settle him forward.

Agree with this (not the Carlisle thing, because this thread isn't about Essendon).

Clark is massively overrated, and has to learn a new team environment. Vickery is on the rise and doing everything right.

Good question because I imagine it will be fairly even.

I'll guess at Clark because I think Melbourne will direct more kicks to him and I think we are planning on playing him out of the goalsquare quite a bit.

Vickery.

Don't rate them as on much of a different level, but Vickery's forward first, part-time ruck, Clark's ruck first, part-time forward. IMHO.

I'd take Clark if it was a "who'll have the most hitouts"

As I said earlier doubt Clark will play a lot in ruck. At the intra club match he played forward the whole time. Unless there Is a need i.e injuries expect Clark to play almost exclusively up forward.

Agree he's not overly physical, however Green's not actually that slight

I'd expect it to perhaps be close, but probably have Vickery edging out Clark

Clark will be there to bring the ball to ground for the smaller forwards (and obviously kick a few himself

The thing that will hurt Mitch the most is he will need alot more opportunities than Vickery as Vickery is a dead eye dick. So whilst Mitch will have alot more footy coming his way, this will probably only even things out. Vickery for me, better and more natural forward but will not get the best defender.
